Gallant Conservatives To The Rescue...

New York Post Online Edition: postopinion

Judith Miller used to be fair game for conservative columnists...hey, why not go after a 'reporter' who calls a suspected terrorist group the day before the government is going to knock down their doors with search warrants, to ask how they feel about the secret government investigation into their activities.

THAT's what got special prosecutor Fitzgerald all in a dither about Judy, back when he was investigating al-Qaida, and he put her in his crosshairs knowing that where there's smoke there's fire, and she HAD to be guilty of other things because she was a media weasel without the word 'scruples' in any of the dictionary's she owned.

Ah but have the TIMES then diss her, well, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, so out come the Save-The-Judy's stories, and here's one of them from premier bandwagon jumper extraordinaire, John Podhoretz.

New York Post Online Edition: postopinion

Not wishing for Podhoretz to capture all of the glory, the Post's editorial staff join the Save-The Whales, strike that, MILLERS, parade:

October 25, 2005 -- "The New York Times' newsroom has erupted in all-out civil war over reporter Judith Miller, recently released from 85 days imprisonment for refusing to identify a source — though she ultimately did so."

And by the way, she HAD to tell the grand jury about her source, but she DIDN'T have to announce it to the public like she did, so all of her "protecting my sources" bullswaddle was precisely that, bullswaddle.
