Frederick Arthur Bridgman studied under Gerome, and became one of the first American Orientalists. I think. It's been a long time and I'm not in the mood to Google. The Messenger is evocative of Gerome's style, and I thought to include it as a header for this blog but it's just too, too moslem. Today's moslem. The Messenger
