How Many Journalists Does It Take To Write 4 Sentences?

The answer would be, 6

ORLANDO -- -"An Orlando man with a concealed-weapons permit successfully defended himself early Sunday against two armed robbers.

Confronted outside Metro Place Apartments, the gun owner pushed aside a female acquaintance and drew his 9 mm pistol, according to Orlando police. The couple then fled.

Another tenant heard the commotion and called 911 about 3:20 a.m. to report seeing two masked men armed with shotguns flee the area, reports show."

Willoughby Mariano, Mark Schlueb, Henry Pierson Curtis, Gary Taylor, Christopher Sherman and Laurin Sellers of the Sentinel staff contributed to this report.

Thank heavens there wasn't more to the story or they'd have been forced to call in the entire newsroom. As for the meat of the story, an atta-boy goes to the man willing and able to defend himself. We can only guess what sort of gang flees from the mere sight of one armed man, and this adds to the no-shots-fired statistics which prove that you do not have to discharge a gun to dissuade a gremlin.
