The Gun Grabbers Never Sleep...

Ammo that sparked fire already should be banned

"A semi- or fully-loaded automatic long-range .50-caliber rifle is among the most destructive and powerful weapons legally available in the United States today.

The multi-thousand-dollar retail-priced weapon is widely described by its manufacturers in their advertising as "heavy firepower for light infantry." It is routinely used by the military to wreck aircraft and penetrate armor-plated vehicles, ignite other weapons and fuel and kill occupants.

And, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, a bolt-action, manually loadable version of the .50-caliber sniper rifle sent balls of fire -- armor-piercing incendiary tracer ammunition that explodes on impact -- into timberland near Bald Mountain, starting a wildfire Sept. 8.

Polk County officials said that Eric Larkins has turned the weapon and ammo over to them and hired a lawyer. They said he's not talking about events that led to the fire that burned more than 425 acres of land protected by the Oregon Department of Forestry. He faces misdemeanor charges of second-degree criminal mischief and reckless burning.

Why? Because that fire, officials said, was ignited by .50-caliber Browning Machine Gun ammunition -- known as a BMG round.

Put aside your interpretation of the Second Amendment, and the right to bear arms issue for a moment, and ask yourself why anyone would use that sort of firepower while target shooting, which is what police allege.

Tom Diaz, a senior policy analyst for the Violence Policy Center in Washington, D.C., said there is no real civilian use for incendiary-tipped tracer bullets.

Hunters use a .50-caliber rifle, but their ammo is not BMG.

"It's the black musket powder-and-ball stuff," Diaz said.

As for BMG ammo, he said, "there's really no purpose other than starting forest fires and blowing up local toxic-waste storage tanks."

Abject nonsense. Bic cigarette lighters ALSO cause fires and last I checked weren't mentioned in the Constitution so try banning THEM first. Idiot. Take your uneducated commie ass elsewhere while we go about our business of being free Americans, thank you very much.

Brady Campaign Praises Police Chiefs Who But Of Course Want Us Disarmed

Washington, D.C. - "Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, called today's report by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Taking a Stand: Reducing Gun Violence in Our Communities, a "clear road map from the nation's police chiefs of steps we can take now to combat gun violence."

"Our nation's police are on the front lines in the fight for public safety. In this landmark report, police leaders are saying they are tired of the nation's gun policies being held hostage by the special interest gun lobby," Helmke said.

"The police chiefs have set out a strong, reasonable, agenda for action," Helmke continued. "The Brady Campaign supports it, as should every American who wants sensible action to save lives."

"Taking a stand" for the rights of criminals to rampage unchecked while we the people are turned into herd animals. Right. Gotcha. Keep it up fellas and your bosses will disband the lot of you and start from scratch. There's never been a police department in the history of mankind that didn't need a constant boot in the ass to do its job so don't believe we can't live without you. For all his warts, Rudy proved that all it takes is to demand the cops simply WORK, but in most cases that is nearly impossible. They drop the ball then blame the non-criminal because they happen to know where we live and we're far easier targets. Looting ran rampant in New Orleans while the police were going door to door beating up grannies for their firearms, and that pretty much says it all.
