Correction...

It has come to our attention that Dennis Kucinich has been quoted incorrectly with regards to his reported sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object.

Representative Kucinich, Dem/Ohio, in fact said that he was dropped off by a UFO, and is awaiting its return so as to at long last travel home.

Fired University of Colorado Professor Ward Churchill Keeps Teaching on Campus

"Former University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill no longer is a member of the faculty but he is holding classes on campus after his dismissal following a controversial Sept. 11 essay comparing victims to a Nazi leader.

The classes, covering topics including colonialism, genocide and racism, are organized by the students who then invite Churchill to speak.

"We feel Ward has a right to say what he wants to say," Aaron Smith, a political science and ethnic studies senior, told FOXNews.com.

Smith, one of the discussions' organizers, said about 75 students usually show up but it is hard to get them to commit to assignments since they can't receive grades for them.

The discussions on campus aim to make a statement about academic freedom and free speech, Smith said.

David Lane, Churchill’s attorney, said he doesn’t know if Churchill views the discussions as a return to campus, he just enjoys teaching.

"I’m sure they are going very well; he’s an excellent professor," Lane said.

Smith, who took a class with Churchill amid the debate over his research and writings, agreed.

"He pushes us to think critically about issues that are left outside of the main chronicles of history," Smith said. "He tries to have us not only look from the perspective of the dominant, but from the perspective of the oppressed."

Yeah, sure. Were Big Chief Who Hate America to be focusing upon minorities instead of Jews and America, he'd have been jailed a long time ago for fostering HATE SPEECH. Buggerers such as he find it all but impossible to NOT have a captive audience of young minds around worshiping his every passing of gas, and just how often does one have to be discredited as a liar and a bigot before liberals understand that it isn't promoting FREE SPEECH to allow this idiot a soap box, but the precise opposite. You either agree with his views or hit the road. The man needs the adoration of closed minded children as a real man needs air, and to put it bluntly he's simply one sick son of a bitch.

Ann Coulter Mentioned Gun-Control

"The Anti-Defamation League is to Jews what the National Organization for Women is to women and the ACLU is to civil libertarians. They represent not Jews or women or civil libertarians, but the left wing of the Democratic Party.

In the paramount threat of our time, the Democratic Party is AWOL. And those are the patriotic Democrats. The rest are actively aiding the enemy.

The blood of millions of Israelis is at stake, and the ADL is flacking for a party that yearns to surrender to the terrorists.

To hide the dirty little secret of the left's burgeoning anti-Semitism, liberals act as if they live in abject terror of right-wingers. When it comes to conservatives, the Anti-Defamation League is the Pro-Defamation League.

For decades, most Jews supported the left, and the left supported Jewish causes. But the left moved on long ago. For liberals, Jews are just so "last Holocaust."

The ADL gently chided Columbia University for making the "mistake" of inviting a genocidal, Holocaust-denying Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak. It tepidly criticized Ahmadinejad's speech for being "a charade of half-answers and obfuscation." That sounds like a fair description of Hillary's current stump speech.

The ADL and its ilk reserve their real venom for a beast like Dennis Prager -- a leading Jewish intellectual, author and radio talk show host. Last year, Prager made the manifestly obvious point that the first Muslim congressman, Keith Ellison, should take his oath of office not on a Quran, but on a Bible, in recognition of "the value system (that) underlies American civilization."

According to the ADL, Prager's column was not a trifling "mistake" on the order of allowing an American audience at one of America's premier universities to give a standing ovation to a murderous, racist lunatic. Prager was "intolerant, misinformed and downright un-American." I think I'd take "obfuscation."

The relevant organs of pious liberal society were promptly rounded up to censure Prager, including the American Jewish Committee and two members of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, Rep. Henry Waxman and former New York Mayor Ed Koch -- who called Prager a "bigot." Do they have Ellison on the record acknowledging whether the Holocaust happened?

The executive committee of the Holocaust Museum called Prager's column antithetical to "tolerance and respect for all peoples regardless of their race, religion or ethnicity."

But you'll see that famed liberal "tolerance" dry up pretty fast if you render a simple statement of the beliefs of Christians.

The usual liberal coterie acts shocked and offended by Christians who actually believe Christianity is true -- unlike Democratic politicians -- to conceal the fact that the left is increasingly dominated by people conniving in the destruction of Israel.

How about having Tim Russert ask Hillary if she believes the New Testament is the perfection of the Old Testament? She claims to be a Christian. Let's get it on the table: Is she or isn't she? It doesn't get any more bare-bones than that.

Let the cat out of the bag that a 2,000-year-old religion practiced by a majority of Americans teaches that Jesus came in "fulfillment of the scriptures," and you might be better off if you had adopted the preferred approach of liberals' new friends the Muslims and simply slit the Jew's throat.

At least the ADL wouldn't object.

They're too busy conspiring with the Council on American-Islamic Relations to denounce Dennis Prager. And promoting gun control. And gay marriage. And illegal immigration. You know, all the issues that have historically kept the Jews safe."

Ann has more balls than most of the males I know, but usually stays away from mentioning anything to do with firearms. That's cool, cause there's a little bit of lefty in all of us as no one is perfect.

Not exactly an earth shattering announcement that ALL modern liberals despise Jews, but one should understand precisely WHY they do.

Without the Jews in the way, our friendly Arabian Knights would practically GIVE US all the oil we need. Might even pay us to take all that icky, gooey stuff off their hands. Can't run rock concerts and humongous soccer-mom-SUV's without oil, baby, so the faster we dismiss the Jews the quicker we'll be floating in dead dinosaur shit.

Sevigny And The GLOCK 21 SF

"Dave Sevigny of the Team GLOCK Shooting Squad completed a string of victories using GLOCK's newest model, the G21 SF in .45 ACP. After winning the High Industry title at the IDPA Nationals last September, the Team GLOCK captain won the IDPA Georgia State championship, USPSA Area 3 championship and the Inaugural TSA "Street Gun" Nationals in October.

The Tactical Shooting Association (TSA) Street Gun Nationals took place at the Tactical Shooting Academy home range in Surry, Virginia on October 19-21, 2007. The Association is a new practical shooting sport which promotes the use of guns designed for concealed carry. It was determined by the TSA match officials that 63% of the competitors in the match used a GLOCK pistol.

The national championship stages featured shooting challenges one might encounter in the real world along with other standard shooting tests such as plate rack drills. TSA targets, knock down steel and shot timers were used to score competitors. Realistic props such as motor vehicles, household appliances, street signs, cash registers and common items found in a store were all part of the national championship stages. "The details in some of the stages were nice to see. It gave the competitors a sense of being outside of a controlled shooting range," said Dave Sevigny.

When asked about the G21 SF Sevigny added, "I've enjoyed firing the new pistol in our recent tournaments. It was easy to deliver fast and accurate hits just the same as other GLOCK models we've run in the past. For those who prefer a .45 ACP, you'll love the 21 SF. The pistol ran 100% through each competition and practice session."

Sevigny is spooky good. A zillion years ago (ok I forget when) I asked him who would win if he and Rob Leatham swapped pistols, and he said all things being equal Leatham would because he'd then have the better gun. Spoken like a true, well, spokesman, but what he can do with a $700 gun is amazing.

We Get Ones We're Glad We Didn't Toss

"America has lost its will to fight. It has lost its will to defend what is
right and just in the world. The crazy thing of it all is that the American
people have not even been asked to sacrifice a single thing. It's not like
World War Two, where people rationed food, and turned in cars to be made
into metal for tanks. The American people have not been asked to sacrifice
anything. Unless you are in the military or the family member of a service
member, its life as usual...the war doesn't affect you. But it affects us.
And when it is over, and the troops come home, and they try to piece
together what's left of them after their service...where will the detractors
be then? Where will the Cindy Sheehans be to comfort and talk to soldiers
and help them sort out the last couple years of their lives, most of which
have been spent dodging death and wading through the deaths of their
friends? They will be where they always are, somewhere far away, where the
horrors of the world can't touch them. Somewhere where they can complain
about things they will never experience in their lifetime; things that the
young men and women of America have willingly taken upon their shoulders."

Criminals stealing guns from police in Palm Beach County

"Criminals are going after cops — for their guns.

In the past year, gang members, thieves and drug dealers in Palm Beach County have broken into at least six police cars and stolen handguns and shotguns, officials say.

'This shows how brazen they are,' Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said."

Whats that? Come again? They can steal from the boss...meaning us...but DARE not steal from YOU? Why you puffed up, overpaid, incompetent night watchman. We give you the tools with which to do a job, you allow common thugs to steal our money, and after the fact all you can do is give a gosh-golly shrug that you'd a never thunk they'd rob YOUR ass blind.

Now I'm going to have to be even more alert than ever because the hired help can't protect their firearms the way I do, and have allowed criminals access to lethal weapons.

"Despite the risk, criminals are hitting police cruisers in South Florida and across the country for a reason: Most police cars are mini-armories on wheels. Cars store not only high-powered guns but also bullet-resistant jackets, "stop sticks" to pierce tires of fleeing cars and other devices to combat the firepower of dangerous career criminals."

What risk? You want risk? Try coming here and taking what belongs to me. You think you've seen "high-powered"? You inefficient, poorly trained, unqualified, inept bunglers, truly take the cake. Tack on all of the super-dee-duper locks you want...in case you've not been paying much attention and it seems you haven't...criminals steal from institutions that have GOOD security, and you know what happens then?

Such businesses usually fire the dolt who set up a come and get our free stuff garage sale for crooks, but sorry to say we can't fire YOU.

STOP leaving the guns and ammo in squad cars overnight. I know its a supreme hassle to actually ask the boys to lock things up after they are done playing, but we'd really appreciate the effort.

Hussein Continues To Snark Away At RodHam

"...Obama complained that during Tuesday night's debate Clinton didn't provide clear answers on a number of occasions.

"After the most secretive administration in memory, an administration that consistently misled the American people, we need a president who is going to be open and forthright," Obama said. "I think last night's debate really exposed this fault line. Senator Clinton left us wondering where she stood on every single hard question from Iran to Social Security to drivers' licenses for undocumented workers."

Obama said he was especially concerned by Clinton's response when asked if she would release her papers from her years as first lady.

"Her big answer on whether she would release the papers from her White House years was particularly troubling because she is running on her record as first lady as much as on her record as a senator," he said. "How can people fully judge that record if the documents from those years remain locked away?"

After the obligatory diss at Bush..can't possible attack a Republican candidate for fear they will fight back and then some...the Ill-Annoy'ed Senator continued his recent tirade against the other bush, proving that he can be just as tongue tied as the Oval Orifice-in training, but with better oratory skills.

NOTHING will EVER get Hillary RodHam to open the books on her 2 term co-Presidency. Back then she was the Princess who could do no wrong, acted that way, treated the little people that way,and her subjects dare not see that side of her for fear they'll revolt.

If A Clinton Were In The White House...

The following news would be grounds for Sainthood...

WASHINGTON (AP) -- "The economy picked up speed in the summer, growing at a brisk 3.9 percent pace, the fastest in 1 1/2 years and an impressive performance even as a credit crunch plunged the housing market deeper into turmoil.

The latest snapshot of the country's economic health, released by the Commerce Department on Wednesday, suggested that the economy is demonstrating much resilience and thus far holding up well to the strains in the housing and credit markets, which had intensified during the third quarter and rocked Wall Street.

The current administration is running unemployment numbers far below Bill Clinton's, taxes are lower, the economy is growing faster, but the Jurassic Press continues to promote each and every economic doom and gloom story it can lay its hands upon because they simply cannot conceive of a country, ANY country, doing so well under Republican leadership. The usual suspects...NY Times, TIME Magazine, etc, were declaring Slick Willy to be the most august of Presidents since Lincoln despite such lackluster indicators and the fact that we were being attacked on numerous fronts by an avowed and deadly enemy.

What media bias?

Oh dammitall I forgot. The Assault Weapon Ban. Willy despised guns. Of COURSE they loved him.

Texas Office Worker Accidentally Shoots Himself in Both Legs While Sitting at Desk

FORT WORTH, Texas — "A 47-year-old man was shot in both legs when he accidentally discharged a handgun while sitting in his cubicle at an insurance office, police said.

The man, who hasn't been publicly identified, had put his .45-caliber gun into his jacket pocket and then draped the jacket over the back of his chair, said Brett McGuire, Lake Worth police chief.

The gun discharged Tuesday morning as the man settled into his chair. He said the man must have done something to make the weapon fire."

(Jeepers, Chief, think so?)

"The bullet passed through both of the man's legs and a bookcase before lodging in the wall of a cubicle.

McGuire said there was no indication the man had brought the gun to target anyone.

"He wasn't having problems with his bosses or co-workers that we know of," McGuire said.

McGuire said his department has no record of the man being licensed to carry a concealed weapon. He said detectives would wait until the man, who was taken to a hospital, had recovered before deciding whether to pursue charges."

The discharge could not have happened as so described, for the pistol must have been in line with or close to the level of both legs. For that much penetration we're probably talking full metal jacket, and no, Chief, not HIS jacket, but the bullet's. FMJ means the man intended to use the gun for target practice, or he's a newbee without a clue, but since the reporting is so bloody awful it remains impossible to determine which. A 47 year-old insurance worker, without a carry permit, totes a sidearm into work then shoots himself.

Smart money says he just bought the thing in the parking lot.

Oh and one other thing. In most states you don't need a carry license to pack heat on private property. If the owner doesn't wish to press charges all they have the shooter on is how he brought the gun into the workplace. Then again Texas doesn't permit open carry so he's probably screwed, but not because he was carrying a concealed weapon while at his desk. Regardless, calling a good lawyer right about now would probably be a good idea.

Do YOU have one on retainer?

Going To The Candidates Debate

Hillary Clinton's rivals come out fighting at debate

PHILADELPHIA - "Hillary Clinton fought off a barrage of attacks by rivals in a Democratic debate Tuesday night, but got knocked off-balance trying to defend Gov. Spitzer's much-criticized plan on driver's licenses for illegal immigrants - without actually endorsing it.

"I was confused over Sen. Clinton's answer," Sen. Barack Obama deadpanned near the end of the two-hour encounter at Drexel University, shown nationally on MSNBC. "I couldn't tell whether she was for it or against it."

The sharpest-edged debate of the primary campaign came just over two months before the voting starts in Iowa on Jan. 3.

And it was a New York-centric issue that gave Clinton a harder time than explaining her changes over the years on Iraq, her recent vote condemning Iran or her explanation of why her plan for Social Security's future will have to wait.

Clinton said Spitzer had been forced to make "an honest" effort to address the problem of illegal immigrants driving on local roads because of President Bush's failed immigration policy.

"I did not say it should be done, but I certainly recognize why Gov. Spitzer is trying to it," Clinton said.

Pressed by moderator Tim Russert on whether she supported Spitzer's plan or not, Clinton got irritated - and exasperated.

"This is where everybody plays 'Gotcha,'" Clinton said. "It makes a lot of sense. What is the governor supposed to do? He's dealing with a serious problem. ... Do I think it's the best thing for any governor to do? No. But I understand the sense of real desperation trying to get a handle on this."

What's the governor supposed to do?

Hell and damnation, woman, the governor is supposed to make certain that the laws of the land are ENFORCED, not trampled upon because of the liberal fondness for creating underclasses and the burning desire to add another few million to the already lengthy list of no-account idlers who vote for whomever will provide that free pass to grazing at the public trough.

The governor isn't supposed to surrender when the going gets tough, but then again you've never governed anything other than your husbands rape-defense-fund so how would you know what a chief executive is supposed to do? Or for that matter, the true meaning of the word "honest"?

The debate itself?

Don't make me laugh. The George McGovern Fan Club pranced and minced and waved the white flag enough to make the French proud.

Motorist in I-4 gun battle was carrying 'world's most powerful production handgun'

ATTENTION

Soccer Moms And Other Weak-Kneed Individuals Must Close Page Immediately

"Carrying "the world's most powerful production handgun" did not help a motorist last weekend in an unexplained gun battle on Interstate 4.

Tamburo Hopkins never got a chance to draw his Smith & Wesson 500, Orlando police reports show.

"It happened too fast for me to shoot back," Hopkins, 29, of Altamonte Springs told police after a shotgun blast riddled his purple Toyota Camry late Saturday.

Police first learned of the shooting about 11 p.m. when Hopkins drove to Florida Hospital South seeking medical care for a passengers.

"I've been shot in the head," Surrey Kali Washington, 27, of Orlando, called out to two police officers outside the emergency room at 601 Rollins St., reports show. ER staff placed Washington on a stretcher and rushed him into a trauma room where he was treated for non-life threatenting wounds, reports show.

Hopkins and his other passenger, Tromone Neal, 26, of Orlando, told investigators they were driving west on I-4 through the Fairbanks curves when a small white Chevrolet pickup pulled alongside their car and opened fire, reports show.

A crime scene technician found three bullet holes in the passenger side of Hopkins' car in addition to a blown-out frontseat window and $1,000 in damages. Plastic wadding from a shotgun shell lay on the frontseat floorboards after it apparently had been fired along with a blast of shotgun pellets, reports show.

(TOOK A CRIME-SCENE TECH TO FIGURE THAT OUT?)

"It should be noted, due to the placement of the shots into the vehicle were at head level, it appears to this officer that the suspects intended to murder the occupants of the vehicle," wrote Officer Robert Anderson.

(YA THINK?)

"Hopkins and his friends told police they had no idea why anyone would try to kill them. Hopkins holds a state Carry Concealed Weapon permit which allows him to carry his weapon almost anywhere he goes in Florida and 31 other states recognizing Florida's CCW permit, records show.

The handgun Hopkins did not have time to draw fires a .50 Magnum bullet that is roughly the same size as the bullet fired by the Orange County sheriff's .50-caliber elephant guns. Smith & Wesson introduced its super handgun in 2003. It produced then reclaimed its title as maker of the world's most powerful handgun which it held in the 1970's when a series of Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry movies popularized the Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum."

"...sheriff's elephant guns..."

?

Sweet mother of pearl but I JUST learned how to take on a gator and now they tell me the elephants are acting up?

Exclusive Update...

Messenger operatives have learned that NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg became furious after viewing the above video, and immediately sent out a call to all nearby states for them to join him in drafting a law prohibiting edged weapons within 1000 feet of a monkey, or likely monkey thoroughfare.

So Has New Orleans Cleaned Up Its Act...

Not a chance, brother, not a chance...

New Orleans District Attorney to Resign

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - "District Attorney Eddie Jordan, criticized for his response to New Orleans' growing crime problem and stung by a $3.7 million discrimination verdict against his office, announced his resignation Tuesday.

"I'm resigning not because I'm a quitter," Jordan said at a news conference, "but because I honestly think that this painful act will help prevent further disruption of the district attorney's office, the criminal justice system and our city's fight against crime." He said he will resign Wednesday.

Anger over Jordan's performance, fed in part by his decisions to abandon two high-profile prosecutions and his apparently inadvertent sheltering of an armed robbery suspect, rose again this week when a federal judge refused to delay payment in the discrimination case. That opened the door to the possible seizure of assets of his office.

"I'm hoping my departure will end the threat of the seizure of the district attorney's office's assets," Jordan said.

Jordan lost the discrimination lawsuit against dozens of his former employees in 2005. The white former employees said they were fired by Jordan, who is black, because of their race.

Mayor Ray Nagin on Tuesday reiterated that the city would not pay the judgment, saying that it could not afford it and that it would set a bad precedent."

A bad precedent. Following a court order is, in Nagin's mind, a bad precedent. Same bad precedent as his refusal to return the firearms stolen by the NO-PD. Orders, you see, are only for poor white folk to pay attention to when rogue cops come a knockin'.

Re-Configured G.I. Joe A Travesty Of Heroic Proportion

"Hollywood now proposes that in a new live-action movie based on the G.I. Joe toy line, Joe's -- well, "G.I." -- identity needs to be replaced by membership in an "international force based in Brussels." The IGN Entertainment news site reports Paramount is considering replacing our "real American hero" with "Action Man," member of an "international operations team."

Paramount will simply turn Joe's name into an acronym.

The show biz newspaper Variety reports: "G.I. Joe is now a Brussels-based outfit that stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, an international co-ed force of operatives who use hi-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil organization headed by a double-crossing Scottish arms dealer."

So then, where's the beef? Read on, MacDuff...

"On Guadalcanal, the Marines struggled to complete an airfield that could threaten the Japanese route to Australia. Admiral Yamamoto knew how dangerous that was. Before long, relentless Japanese counterattacks had driven the supporting U.S. Navy from inshore waters. The Marines were on their own.

As Platoon Sgt. Mitchell Paige and his 33 riflemen set about carefully emplacing their four water-cooled .30-caliber Brownings on that hillside, 65 years ago this week -- manning their section of the thin khaki line that was expected to defend Henderson Field against the assault of the night of Oct. 25, 1942 -- it's unlikely anyone thought they were about to provide the definitive answer to that most desperate of questions: How many able-bodied U.S. Marines does it take to hold a hill against 2,000 armed and motivated attackers?

But by the time the night was over, "The 29th (Japanese) Infantry Regiment has lost 553 killed or missing and 479 wounded among its 2,554 men," historian Lippman reports. "The 16th (Japanese) Regiment's losses are uncounted, but the 164th's burial parties handled 975 Japanese bodies. ... The American estimate of 2,200 Japanese dead is probably too low."

You've already figured out where the Japanese focused their attack, haven't you? Among the 90 American dead and seriously wounded that night were all the men in Mitchell Paige's platoon. Every one. As the night of endless attacks wore on, Paige moved up and down his line, pulling his dead and wounded comrades back into their foxholes and firing a few bursts from each of the four Brownings in turn, convincing the Japanese forces down the hill that the positions were still manned.

The citation for Paige's Medal of Honor picks up the tale: "When the enemy broke through the line directly in front of his position, P/Sgt. Paige, commanding a machine gun section with fearless determination, continued to direct the fire of his gunners until all his men were either killed or wounded. Alone, against the deadly hail of Japanese shells, he fought with his gun and when it was destroyed, took over another, moving from gun to gun, never ceasing his withering fire."

In the end, Sgt. Paige picked up the last of the 40-pound, belt-fed Brownings and did something for which the weapon was never designed. Sgt. Paige walked down the hill toward the place where he could hear the last Japanese survivors rallying to move around his flank, the belt-fed gun cradled under his arm, firing as he went.

Coming up at dawn, battalion executive officer Major Odell M. Conoley was the first to discover how many able-bodied United States Marines it takes to hold a hill against two regiments of motivated, combat-hardened infantrymen who have never known defeat.

On a hill where the bodies were piled like cordwood, Mitchell Paige alone sat upright behind his 30-caliber Browning, waiting to see what the dawn would bring.

The hill had held, because on the hill remained the minimum number of able-bodied United States Marines necessary to hold the position.

And that's where the unstoppable wave of Japanese conquest finally crested, broke, and began to recede. On an unnamed jungle ridge on an insignificant island no one ever heard of, called Guadalcanal.

When the Hasbro Toy Co. called some years back, asking permission to put the retired colonel's face on some kid's doll, Mitchell Paige thought they must be joking.

But they weren't. That's his mug, on the little Marine they call "G.I. Joe." At least, it has been up till now.

Mitchell Paige's only condition? That G.I. Joe must always remain a United States Marine.

But don't worry. Far more important for our new movies not to offend anyone in Cairo or Karachi or Paris or Palembang.

After all, it's only a toy. It doesn't mean anything."

OBAMA: NAVEL-GAZER-IN-CHIEF

by Rich Lowry

"WHEN it comes to self- reflection, Barack Obama is an overachiever. At 46, he's already written two memoirs when most people in public life (sometime at the end of their career) will be lucky to write one.

So far, what Obama seems set to get out of his presidential campaign is yet another memoir - this one an agonized, personal account of how his campaign went nowhere despite all the media hoopla, crowds and fund-raising. It turns out that voters aren't as interested in Barack Obama as Barack Obama is.

Like Jacob grappling with the archangel Gabriel, Obama has been wrestling with his own conscience the entire campaign and has come up lame. He has engaged in a running commentary on whether the tactics of his own campaign - down to specific press releases - live up to his standard of audacious hopefulness. Left unclear is why anyone else besides Obama should care.

The insular, self-obsessed campaign of her chief rival is one of the reasons Hillary Clinton has had as good a 90-day run as anyone in presidential politics in recent memory. She still has a race on her hands in Iowa, but she leads there after trailing most of the year, and more than doubles Obama's support in national polls, where he's slipped as low as 17 percent.

All year, Obama has offered voters airy clichés about hope, change and bipartisanship, and assurances that he personally embodies all of the above. He ended a typically precious ad in Iowa: "I approved this message to ask you to believe, not just in my ability to bring real change in Washington. I'm asking you to believe in yours." OK, but what sort of change exactly?"

Silly Richy. Barack (what's with every last pundit calling the man by his last name yet referring to Hillary as...Hillary?) proved beyond a shadow of a shadow that he does blackface betterer than Mrs. Bill Clinton can, and if a black man out-blacking a weird white woman isn't worthy of kudos than nothing is.

Moonbats galore flocked to Senator Obama in order to prove that well, yeah, we ruined the black community but we still love 'em like all get out. However, spending money is FAR different than casting a vote for someone. I mean come on now, he's cute but not THAT cute. The Yellowstream Media created the monster lock, stock, and barrel, just to have someone for Mrs. Bill to run against because sweet mother of pearl even THEY cannot stand John Edwards.

Pentagon seeks huge new bunker-buster for Iran

WASHINGTON — The Democrat-controlled Congress is examining a request to develop a new bomb designed for a U.S. air strike on Iran.

The Bush administration wants $88 million for the production of the Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or MOP. The 30,000-pound conventional bomb, meant for deployment by the B-2 aircraft, would be the most powerful bunker-buster ever designed.

Analysts agree that MOP was designed to destroy Iranian and North Korean underground facilities, such as Iran's Natanz uranium enrichment plant, Middle East Newsline reported. The bomb was said to be able to penetrate more than 65 meters of earth.

"It'll go through it like a hot knife through butter," John Pike, a leading U.S. weapons analyst, said.

The administration did not explain the use of MOP. A White House statement cited "an urgent operational need from theater commanders" in its funding request to modify B-2s to carry MOP.

"We are not authorizing Bush to use a 30,000-pound bunker buster," Rep. Jim McDermott, a Washington Democrat, said. "They've been banging the drums the same way as they did in 2002 with Iraq."

First of all, Jimmy lad, the President doesn't NEED authorization from the likes of you to use conventional weapons, and to be honest me bucko you couldn't prevent him from nuking the bastards, either.

And B, if you believe that Boeing only made ONE, and the Air Force tested it and has no more, there's a fine bridge of mine for sale so email me for the details.

The President would like a reasonable stockpile of MOPS on hand, you see, Jimmy, but just 'tween me and you there's a couple already waiting for the launch signal and the only reason Bush asked for funding was to put Ahmadinnerjacket on notice that there's soon to be a gaping hole where once stood a refinement facility.

And the only way to assure his knowledge of this was to alert the democrats and await their squealing race to the obliging Jurassic Press.

Mission accomplished.

Romney Says America Doesn't Need An Intern As President...

"...And I think the greatest drawback beyond the direction she’d take us is that she’s never run anything. She’s never had the occasion of being in the private sector, running a business, or, for that matter, running a state or a city. She hasn’t run anything, and the government of the United States is not a place for a president to be an intern. You need to have experience actually leading and running things."

Mitt Romney on Hillary Rodhams "qualifications"

Yeah. I hear ya, Mitt. Clinton's and interns are a touchy subject. Then again, I doubt we'd be hearing of Hillary cigar'ing some babe in the Oval Office.

Not that I believe she's straight; whats hard to imagine is any woman letting her get that close without having been paid for it first.

Julie Annie Versus The Constitution

Rudy Giuliani shows his Ignorance of the Second Amendment

"During a town hall meeting in northwestern New Hampshire last week, presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani told a former police office:

"You have a constitutional right, that is protected, to bear and carry arms. It is the Second Amendment. If someone disagrees with that, you have to get the Constitution changed."

Since Mr. Giuliani is a former federal prosecutor and these individuals' knowledge of the Constitution appears to be limited to reading court cases, the author decided to use a United States Supreme Court case to show prospective voters, who care about gun rights, that Giuliani is totally ignorant of the nature of the Second Amendment.

In 1875, in the case of United States v Cruikshank, 92 US 542 (1876), the Supreme Court ruled that the rights enumerated in the First and Second Amendments were not granted by the Constitution and were not dependent upon the Constitution for their existence."

This is something Rudy does time and again. He is incapable of understanding that these were not rights granted the people, but rights the people came into being WITH. Changing the Constitution is therefore impossible, as to do so would require changing the very fabric of the society the Founders created. Americans do not NEED permission from ANY document to comport themselves as Americans.

That's sort of what the whole deal was about to begin with.

Police knew details of missing guns

Albany chief has claimed no records of assault weapons illegally obtained by officers

ALBANY -- "Albany Police Department officials wrote a letter to the federal government four years ago saying the department had lost 12 machine guns that were part of an arsenal of assault weapons illegally purchased by dozens of officers in the mid-1990s.

The letter, which was sent to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Washington, D.C., was signed by then-Police Chief Robert Wolfgang. A copy was recently shared with the Times Union by a source with access to the department's records.

The letter confirms that top city police officials knew how many of the dangerous weapons had been secretly obtained through the department, and how many were gone. It also raises questions about why current Chief James W. Tuffey has made inconsistent statements about the issue at two recent City Council committee meetings.

On Oct. 8, after confirming information from law enforcement sources, the Times Union reported that an unknown number of the machine guns, which firearms experts said could now be worth thousands of dollars each, were never recovered by the department.

The missing guns are still registered to the police department. By buying them through the department, officers were able to obtain the restricted weapons at sharply discounted, tax-exempt prices. They are automatic weapons and were available for sale only to police agencies and military units."

Okay, we get the picture. Day after day in city after city, state after state, the most felonious individuals licensed to carry firearms are members of law enforcement. Case closed, Katie bar the door, lights out. And, day after day, yadda yadda, these very same crooks get leniency when you or I would be serving hard time.

Thats the biz. The situation is despicable and isn't going to take a change for the best because somehow, someway, sometime, law enforcement officers were granted the status of uber-citizen and elevated far beyond our powers to add or detract.

Meanwhile...In Local News...

"A 75-year-old man who shot an intruder later told officials he did so despite being legally blind. The intruder, an acquaintance, is being charged with burglary and battery.

Police say 28-year-old Cevaughn Curtis Jr. knocked on the door of Arthur Williams' home around 3 a.m. Friday and asked to be let inside. When Williams refused, police say Curtis pushed the door in anyway. Williams went into his bedroom, called 911 and then shot Curtis in the neck, said Sgt. Barry Kays of the Gainesville Police Department.

Curtis told authorities he went to Williams' residence to buy beer, but it was not clear how well the two knew each other. Curtis was taken to the hospital and later charged with burglary and aggravated battery on a person over the age of 65.

Williams is not currently being charged, Kays said."

I'm not counting on the local yokels getting it right, but there's a call in to determine the caliber, and if at all possible, the platform and cartridge used.

Be a great little piece of advertising.

1 in 10 Schools Are 'Dropout Factories'

WASHINGTON (AP) -- It's a nickname no principal could be proud of: "Dropout Factory," a high school where no more than 60 percent of the students who start as freshmen make it to their senior year. That dubious distinction applies to more than one in 10 high schools across America.

The highest concentration of dropout factories is in large cities or high-poverty rural areas in the South and Southwest. Most have high proportions of minority students. These schools are tougher to turn around, because their students face challenges well beyond the academic ones - the need to work as well as go to school, for example, or a need for social services.

Utah, which has low poverty rates and fewer minorities than most states, is the only state without a dropout factory. Florida and South Carolina have the highest percentages. About half of high schools in those states classify as dropout factories."

Damn but that makes me proud. Living in a state that refuses to dumb-down the curriculum in order to simply pass minority members who could care less if they receive a good education. The professional complainers, otherwise known as the weepy, creepy left, would have school systems cater to those that are not prepared to BE educated because of a horrendous family environment and the absolute certainty that when all else fails they can either excel at criminal endeavors or live off of the government.

Scientists Find Oldest Living Animal, Then Kill It

British marine biologists have found what may be the oldest living animal — that is, until they killed it.

The team from Bangor University in Wales was dredging the waters north of Iceland as part of routine research when the unfortunate specimen, belonging to the clam species Arctica islandica, was hauled up from waters 250 feet deep.

Only after researchers cut through its shell, which made it more of an ex-clam, and counted its growth rings did they realize how old it had been — between 405 and 410 years old.

Another clam of the same species had been verified at 220 years old, and a third may have lived 374 years. But this most recent clam was the oldest yet.

"Its death is an unfortunate aspect of this work, but we hope to derive lots of information from it," postdoctoral scientist Al Wanamaker told London's Guardian newspaper. "For our work, it's a bonus, but it wasn't good for this particular animal."

Gee. Ya think?

And please now, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of EVER deriving valuable information from some poor old clam, and aren't these usually the SAME folks who despise hunters for killing the animals they then consume?

Guess its okay to kill something out of curiosity but not for the dinner table.

The Breck Girl Wants To Spend Even MORE Of Your Money

"John Edwards says if he's elected president, he'll institute a New Deal-like suite of programs to fight poverty and stem growing wealth disparity. To do it, he said, he'll ask many Americans to make sacrifices, like paying higher taxes.

Edwards, a former Democratic senator from North Carolina, says the federal government should underwrite universal pre-kindergarten, create matching savings accounts for low-income people, mandate a minimum wage of $9.50 and provide a million new Section 8 housing vouchers for the poor. He also pledged to start a government-funded public higher education program called "College for Everyone.'"

Most if not all of the grandiose schemes foisted upon us by the likes of Edwards, and RodHam, and the other lefty socialists, are the precise antithesis of what America is all about. To them you see, rights are things to be bestowed, such as the Europeans do, because once you identify something as being GIVEN, it can then be TAKEN AWAY.

The Founding fathers made it abundantly clear that mankind is blessed with certain Rights at birth, and therein lies the single biggest difference between us and those who would make us loyal and beholding subjects.

The RIGHTS enumerated in the Constitution are the ones the lefty thieves wish to disregard in favor of handouts such as national health care and free college tuition because nothing is more dangerous than an electorate with the power to express their opinions freely, and the capability of defending themselves while doing so. But of course Edwards would wish EVERY child to be indoctrinated in the college of his choice. For SURE Hillary wants you to believe that the simple premise of taking care of yourself and your family is something best left for the government to handle, because this creates a national dole that they've heretofore reserved for the minority classes, and it worked splendidly well for THEM so why not for EVERYONE.

Wealth disparity is due to one thing and one thing only. Some people simply have more to offer society and are so compensated. This makes them anathema to the liberal ideal, and quite dangerous to boot. Success SHOULD come from Uncle Sugar, and not ones personal level of dedication and intelligence.

Making us all into a nation of beggars is the prime directive, make no mistake about it.

We Get Letters

"Are most of the self defense laws similar from state to state or do they varie..?"

There's an awful lot of confusion concerning when it is PERMISSIBLE for a "civilian" to use deadly force, and it is incumbent upon each individual to know his or her laws on the subject. In Florida, maximum force is legal to prevent the commission of a Forcible Felony:

776.08 Forcible felony.
--"Forcible felony" means treason; murder; manslaughter; sexual battery; carjacking; home-invasion robbery; robbery; burglary; arson; kidnapping; aggravated assault; aggravated battery; aggravated stalking; aircraft piracy; unlawful throwing, placing, or discharging of a destructive device or bomb; and any other felony which involves the use or threat of physical force or violence against any individual.

This isn't to say that having the legal right means you've the moral imperative, but the vast majority of the time the courts stick together in determining a good shoot from a bad one.

So the short answer to your question is yes, no, and maybe. What is a simple case of legitimate self defense in Florida can be Murder-1 in NYC. Here, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then shoot the sucker.

In addition, Floridians have no impetus to retreat from their homes, nor ANY place they've a legal right to be. And once a shooting has been declared justifiable, there can be no civil suits brought against the shooter, by ANYONE.

Rampaging Pickup Remains At Large

Investigators Seek White Ford Truck in California Wildfire Arson Probe

California fire officials said Sunday they are still looking for an illusive (sic: adjective: based on or having the nature of an illusion;) white Ford pickup that was seen in the area about the same time the Santigao fire, one of the largest of the blazes, started.

Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion told FOXNews.com there have been over 800 calls made into the arson tip line but none has led to any information about the Ford F150 model believed to be between the years of 1998-2004 with chrome tubular running boards.

Asked if this were yet another case of inanimate objects taking on a will of their own and causing wanton destruction such as with handguns that have long been accused of heinous crimes, Chief Concepcion would not comment other than to say that "Who knows what these things do when nobody's lookin'..."

Iowa man arrested after found with blowup doll in restroom

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa: An Iowa man was arrested after being found in a government building restroom lying next to an inflatable, anatomically correct doll with his pants down, police said.

Craig McCullough, 47, was charged last week with indecent exposure, a misdemeanor.

The criminal complaint against McCullough says he was discovered in the public restroom by an agent for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency in the Hach office building.

McCullough's criminal record includes a 2004 conviction for burglarizing Just For Me bridal boutique. Shortly after the burglary, police officers found McCullough in a nearby alley, carrying a mannequin wearing a bridal gown.

Local officers were reluctant to provide answers to the persistent rumor that Mr. McCullough had dressed the doll to resemble a certain Junior Senator from NY, and had been heard in various other government buildings shouting "How do YOU like taking it like you're trying to make US take it..." while using the toilet facilities.

Much of U.S. Could See a Water Shortage

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - An epic drought in Georgia threatens the water supply for millions. Florida doesn't have nearly enough water for its expected population boom. The Great Lakes are shrinking. Upstate New York's reservoirs have dropped to record lows. And in the West, the Sierra Nevada snowpack is melting faster each year.

Across America, the picture is critically clear - the nation's freshwater supplies can no longer quench its thirst.

When asked why it was that country's built entirely upon sand and little else could employ desalinization technologies to provide virtually as much water as necessary, while American states bordering vast oceans are forever running out of rainwater, Jack Hoffbuhr, executive director of the Denver-based American Water Works Association said that "Pretty much everybody else spends their available resources on the basics before giving revenue monies away to special interest groups, and the US is famous for doing the exact opposite, or maybe you haven't heard of Hillary's latest free-lunch programs..."

Stumbles Says Rudy Is The Guy

Giuliani is GOP's best shot against Hillary, said Ford

WASHINGTON - Jerry Ford wasn't sure Hillary Clinton could be elected President, but he was absolutely certain which Republican had the strongest shot at stopping her: Rudy Giuliani.

"That would be a great contest between Hillary and Rudy," the 92-year-old former President told a reporter in May 2006.

"I think Giuliani is an electrifying guy," he added. "He's a great speaker. He's had a good record of winning in New York City, and he can be tough."

Ford had gotten to know the former mayor at various political and corporate events over the years - both were members of the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, for example - and often spoke admiringly of Giuliani's performance in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

"And let's face it," the former President went on to say, "he looks much better in a skirt, too, and there was that one time back in ought-4, I think, when I copped a feel not knowing it was..."

McCain Marks 40th Anniversary of Crash

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Republican John McCain reminisced with war buddies on Friday, 40 years after he was shot down over Vietnam, and made the anniversary part of his presidential campaign.

McCain appeared with Col. Bud Day, a fellow Vietnam prisoner of war, and told reporters he was highlighting his military experience because of his pride in his service.

"Senator Bob Dole _ who ran for president and I was part of his campaign _ he was very proud of his service to the country. Jack Kennedy was very proud of his service," McCain said. "Those of us who served in uniform, in the military, are usually very proud of our service."

McCain was a 31-year-old Navy pilot when his plane was hit by a missile, and he ejected. He broke both arms and severely injured his right knee, and the wounds were exacerbated by torture during more than five years in prison.

In other news, reporters continue to query Clinton campaign headquarters without any luck to determine if Hillary Rodham Clinton would continue to push for a multi-million dollar Woodstock museum proposal that has been soundly criticized by Senator McClain.

An anonymous Rodham spokesperson did however offer that rumors of a: WOODSTOCK - Hillary Pulls The Train Room at the proposed museum were in fact not true.

Barack Vows To Go DOWN...

...Fighting

Obama Promises a Forceful Stand Against Clinton

"In a 53-minute interview over a breakfast of boiled eggs (he ate only the egg whites), aboard a chartered jet that brought him here from Chicago, Mr. Obama said Mrs. Clinton had been untruthful or misleading in describing her positions on problems facing the nation. He accused her of “straddling between the Giuliani, Romney side of the foreign policy equation and the Barack Obama side of the equation.” He said that she was trying to “sound or vote” like a Republican on national security issues and that her approach was “bad for the country and ultimately bad for Democrats.”

Mr. Obama suggested that she was too divisive to win a general election and that if she won, she would be unable to bring together competing factions in Washington to accomplish anything.

“There is a legacy that is both an enormous advantage to her in a Democratic primary, but also a disadvantage to her in a general election,” he said. “I don’t think anybody would claim that Senator Clinton is going to inspire a horde of new voters. I don’t think it’s realistic that she is going to get a whole bunch of Republicans to think differently about her.”

Asked about Mr. Obama’s remarks, Mrs. Clinton’s spokesman, Howard Wolfson, said, “Senator Obama once promised Americans a politics of hope. But now that his campaign has stalled he is abandoning that strategy and is engaging in the same old-style personal attacks that he once rejected.”

Therein lies the sum of ALL replies from the Clinton campaign concerning policy issues. Disagree with the woman's punctuation, and she declares it a personal attack.

Which begs the question of however is she going to engage in a dialectic with anyone on anything, once the Dem-Love-Fest disguised as DEBATES have ended and its time to face people believing her to be the second coming of Josef Stalin and asking for answers to her harebrained socialist schemes.

Julie Annie pins her to the wall with some fastballs and a tsk-tsk punctuated with a hearty CACKLE just ain't gonna cut it as a learned retort.

Hillary Rodham is the quintessential poster child for the wealthy politician who loves to spend everyone else's money like it came from a Monopoly box. The only people who would vote for her with full awareness of this are those she has managed to con, swindle, beg, and cajole into doing so, and it can NEVER happen should a true give and take debate be forthcoming.

Senator Obama? Please now. He was merely the Great Black Dope, a conscience-easing minority member that the Holly Go Lolly's flocked to in order to flat out prove that just because they appear to despise blacks it isn't really so, not all the time.

California And Global Warming: Junk Science Match Made In Heaven

While the true culprits search for scapegoats...REAL science explains the California burn

"The alarmists' line of reasoning appears to be that: one, man-made carbon-dioxide emissions increase global temperature; two, increased global temperature alters atmospheric conditions to prevent rainfall; and three, ensuing drought conditions are exacerbated by warmer temperatures that increase drying on the ground.

This line of thinking falls apart at the very beginning, of course, since it's not at all clear that global temperatures are driven by atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide.

Note to readers: A video debate on this point produced by me can be viewed by clicking here.

But for the sake of argument, we will continue down the path of the alarmists' thinking.

So does rising global temperature cause drought?

In the context of what appears to have been a one-degree Fahrenheit rise in mean global temperature since 1900, the observed relationship between temperature and precipitation in North America does not favor the hypothesis.

During the period 1900-2005, precipitation seems to have actually increased in areas above 30 degrees north latitude — including California and the rest of the U.S. — according to the most recent assessment from the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

This does not mean, of course, that droughts haven't occurred in North America over the last 100 years, but it doesn't support a link between rising global temperature and increased drought.

Examining the occurrence of drought in southern California since 1900 is also illuminating.

According to data maintained by the federal National Climatic Data Center, drought conditions are no stranger to southern California.

During the period 1900 to 2005, moderate-to-severe drought conditions occurred in Southern California during 34 of those 106 years — that is, about one-third of the time.

Comparing the southern California drought record against the global temperature record reveals the following:

— During the period 1900-1940, when most of the 20th century's one-degree Fahrenheit temperature increase occurred, there were 7 years of moderate-to-severe drought.

— During the period 1941-1975, when global temperatures cooled, giving rise to concerns of a looming ice age, there were 11 years of moderate-to-severe drought.

— During the period 1976 to 1990, when global temperatures rose back to the 1940 level, there were 8 years of moderate-to-severe drought.

— Since 1991, when global temperatures rose slightly past the 1940 levels, there have been 7 years of drought.

It's a record that would seems to largely prevent any simple conclusions from being drawn — that is, rising temperatures with few drought years, followed by falling temperatures and increasing drought frequency, followed by temperatures rising back to the original levels with increased drought frequency, followed by a leveling off of drought occurrence despite higher temperatures.

Though there is no obvious relationship between global temperature and drought in southern California, the alarmists nevertheless advocate the quixotic task of preventing drought and wildfires by controlling greenhouse-gas emissions.

Global warming, it seems, also makes a good excuse for federal and state bureaucrats and politicians who have failed to properly manage high-risk areas, at least in part because of pressure from anti-logging and anti-development environmental groups.

We can be better prepared for drought and wildfires by improving forest management — as this column previously suggested in the aftermath of the deadly California wildfires of 2003.

Drought and forest fires happen. We have no reason to think that we can do anything to prevent the former, but we know that can do a lot about preventing and controlling the latter — if only the environmentalists will let us."

How many times does this have to happen before California fixes this mess? The tragedy of New Orleans was one thing; minorities being shortchanged by their democrat representatives because thats what democrat representatives DO to minorities, but some big bucks are going up in smoke while the environmental nutcases fight for every last scrub brush to assure plenty of tinder for major fire events.

Human race will 'split into two different species'...

"The human race will one day split into two separate species, an attractive, intelligent ruling elite and an underclass of dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures, according to a top scientist.

100,000 years into the future, sexual selection could mean that two distinct breeds of human will have developed.

The alarming prediction comes from evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry from the London School of Economics, who says that the human race will have reached its physical peak by the year 3000."

The London School of Economics.

Figures.

Wherever there's bogus science to be proposed there's a Brit in the woodwork.

But none of this is newsworthy. Liberals have been trying to create a sub-species of human for quite some time now. Problem was, they located most of them in New Orleans, then the dyke's broke.

Safety amid game chaos

JACKSONVILLE - City workers strung banners from street lights, merchants hung beer and liquor ads from storefronts and city police guarded closed-off streets this week to prepare for the annual Florida-Georgia football game.

n addition to the standard pre-game preparations, city officials said several changes aim to decrease binge drinking and diffuse raucous crowds associated with pre- and post-game festivities at The Jacksonville Landing. Among the changes will be moving a stage with live music to the streets and asking Landing merchants to serve drinks in smaller cups.

But while the city and the two universities have changed their strategies during the past few years to make the game safer, the number of battery arrests between Jacksonville Municipal Stadium and The Jacksonville Landing has mostly remained constant, according to statistics from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

University of Florida officials say the steady number of battery arrests doesn't mean new safety measures like Sideline Student Safety Zones aren't working. They also say there's no proof students from UF or the University of Georgia were involved in any of the fights.

But the father of Tom Brown, the 23-year-old UF student who was beaten to death near The Landing after becoming separated from friends after the 2005 Florida-Georgia game, said the statistics prove what he's known all along: Jacksonville is a dangerous atmosphere for the game, no matter what the universities and the city do to make it safer.

"I'm tired of seeing people go to this game to get beaten up or killed," said Tom Brown's father, whose name also is Tom Brown. "You'd think the university would have learned a lesson. If a number of people are getting beat up every year no matter what you do, I think there's a problem."

Organizers from both universities have unveiled Safety Zones for students and fans to escape dangerous situations, and this year a new wrinkle has been added with the addition of Japanese inspired vending machine clothing, whereby the wearer can instantaneously disguise his or herself as a coke machine in order to hide from ruffians. Officials continue to debate the wisdom of planting land mines that can be student-activated, as well as pop-up machine guns in designated free fire zones, but reportedly have contracted with local military bases for several Blackhawk helicopters to remain on standby should the need arise for air to ground missile activation.

"It's a whole new and quite different ballgame," Theresa O'Donnell, director of special events for the city of Jacksonville said, "and with the Blackhawks on standby its a win-win situation. Our military gets the much needed target practice and our students feel more protected with the ability to reign hellfire and damnation down from the skies whenever they feel threatened."

A MAGINOT LINE IN THE SKY

by Ralph Peters

"The Chinese are developing the capability to attack our satellite network; the Russians already have it - and terrorists would love to get it.

Over the years, a number of analysts, such as Lt.-Col. John A. Gentry (ret.) and Prof. William A. Wulf, have tried to raise the alarm about aspects of our "high-tech" Maginot Line - but the warnings never really stuck.

The ultimate vulnerability would come from a globe-spanning war with a power like China. Beijing has no intention of speeding out of its harbors to provide pop-up targets for the U.S. Navy. The Chinese are developing asymmetrical means to fight us on the broadest possible front - not least, striking our homeland in innovative ways.

Beijing has already tested an anti-satellite weapon, and it's honing its cyber-attack skills to interfere with satellite transmissions and data processing.

What happens if we lose key links in our satellite system? We lose our strategic early-warning capability. We lose our ability to track enemy movements. We lose our ability to communicate, from the dirty-boots level to the National Command Authority.

The Global Positioning System goes away. Most of our hyperexpensive weapons systems can't hit their targets - we lose the precision-guided bombs and cruise missiles without which the Air Force and Navy can no longer fight.

And that's just the military side of things. Try daily life without satellite communications.

The Pentagon's aware of this threat - but, like the interwar French military establishment, refuses to treat it with adequate seriousness: We've spent so much money on weapons and support systems that rely on satellites that we "just say no" when it comes to contemplating a war in which the crucial link in our arsenal goes away.

And satellites are the crucial link. Digitized information is to sophisticated 21st-century militaries what petroleum was to the armies of the last century. Turn off the tap, and the war machine grinds to a halt.

Despite some classified programs underway, we're basically counting on our enemies to play nice and leave our satellites unmolested. Well, good luck. Nor do those $100,000-a-page ads that defense contractors run in the print media (ultimately billed to you, the taxpayer) ever explain that the "Network-centric Warfare" they tout fades to black if the satellites go down..."

Psst? Ralphie? Now, your concerns are genuine, pally. No doubt about it. But don't dismiss those "classified programs underway" so blithely, because I know what you're doing. Lots of ex-military folk were declaring the sky was falling just to get the Pentagon to at long last admit that the SR-71 was for real, and its an old ploy to force the military into divulging at least SOME of their super dee super new toys. YOU know they're out there, Ralphie but you're just going to have to wait like the rest of us. Well, probably not. Some of your old cronies still in high places will eventually drop you a bigass hint or two or three, then you'll move on to something else, happy that you now know more than the rest of us. But dissing the military like this just to get someone to show you a blueprint is bad theater, Ralphie. Scares the soccer moms and do we REALLY need them more agitated than they already are?

Chuckie The Shoe Out Begging For OUR Money Again

Begging, hell. As usual he's demanding.

WASHINGTON - "The subprime mortgage crisis will cost New York State $9.4 billion in lost property values and lead to nearly 15,000 home foreclosures in the five boroughs, a Senate report said Thursday.

"From New York to California, we are headed for billions in lost wealth, property values and tax revenues" from the nationwide real estate meltdown triggered by subprime defaults, said Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), chairman of the Joint Economic Committee.

Schumer called for federal action against the lending practices of "really slimy mortgage brokers," which were detailed last Sunday in a special Daily News "I-Team" report."

If there was ONE place with homes over-valued more so than even Florida, it was NY. They however were overvalued, overpriced, oversold, but since keeping up with the Joneses became a national pastime an awful lot of folks DID make the bad decision to buy them anyway.

Sorry about that. Really. Take a step or two back and think about it. Then ditch the over-sized home for something far more manageable, I mean, hell, you're not John Edwards, buy your family good health insurance with the savings, and vi-oh-la...

Two birds with one stone. The American way. The REAL American way.

But whatever you DO do, STOP asking for a handout to sate YOUR ravenous appetite. Sort of like obese folks wanting government subsidies so that they may remain 500 pounders because it is what they've come to expect from life.

Too frickin bad.

And while you're at it, ditch the third and fourth cars in the driveway, don't replace the big-screen TV's throughout the house. Then mom or dad can stay home and school the kids and there's another problem solved. Less soccer moms on the road with cell phones glued to their ears as they frantically race to make it to practice with time left over for the hair appointment so they can also squeeze in some time at the spa.

Just a thought. Do as you wish, but of course.

But DON'T come crying to the rest of us when things don't work out.
