Author J.K. Rowling scolded a fan she's accused of ripping off her idea for a Harry Potter encyclopedia, claiming he's missed some of the moral lessons laid out in her bestselling novels.
Rowling lashes out at Steven Vander Ark in a letter to Manhattan Federal Judge Robert Patterson, who's considering the Harry Potter author's request to block publication of Vander Ark's "Harry Potter Lexicon.""You would imagine that almost anyone nowadays would be capable of understanding the ill that might befall someone daring to irritate a practitioner of the dark arts." Rowling wrote in the perfectly punctuated letter, "The Harry Potter books are full of moral choices and ethical dilemmas, and, ironically, Mr. Vander Ark's actions tend to demonstrate that he is woefully unfit to represent himself as either a fan of or expert on books whose spirit he seems entirely to have missed."
As of yet there appears to have been no response from Mr. Vander Ark, but Lloyd's of London let it be known that they had summarily dropped his life insurance policy with them.
