SWAT Team Kills Man Attempting To Commit Suicide

"A Pompano Beach man, apparently upset about homeowner's association dues, was shot by three members of the Broward Sheriff's Office SWAT team after he took two women hostage, according to the BSO.Home video captured 57-year-old Patrick Dellisanti walking calmly out of the community office of his apartment complex at 2204 S. Cypress Bend Drive.

He could be seen hugging one of the women and then walking down the sidewalk. He reached into the right front pocket of his pants, slowly pulling out what authorities said was a revolver.

One witness, who observed the scene with binoculars from his balcony, told Local 10's Janine Stanwood, "It looked like he had the gun to his head, like he was going to shoot himself."

Within moments, the video showed, SWAT members rushed close to Dellisanti and at least eight shots could be heard.

Dellisanti fell to the ground. Authorities dragged him away."

On TV and in the movies, police gallantly think nothing of their own safety as they rush to stop someone from committing suicide.

"Stop! No! Don't Do It!"

In real life they'll do the job for you.
