What I Did This Summer

Whew. Spent a heartbroken summer recovering from the death of one of my brothers, and yeah, that's a big reason why the postings became few and far between. Took to the swamp mostly, to think and shoot, then think and shoot some more. If anything good came out of this family tragedy it was in my identifying which rifle, shotgun, and handgun munitions did the best job taking down hogs a'plenty.

Lots of folks pay strict attention to ballistic gelatin tests, media formulated to respond like skinned pig muscle, that itself is similar to human muscle, but I figured why the hell not shoot some actual pigs. Still isn't going to tell you squat about what'll take down a charging mau-mau brandishing a machete, but penetration and expansion numbers are if nothing else at least more interesting than how many votes Obama can beg borrow or steal in order to turn America into a modern USSR.

I'll be sorting through the data and posting my results soon. Don't take it as a recommendation, just food for thought.

Gun Store Owner OK With Background Checks

"The man who wanted to buy a 9mm semiautomatic handgun filled out the required background-check forms at Bob's Gun Shop and left.

A worker at the Granby Street store logged the customer's identification into a computer, connecting with state and federal databases that look for outstanding warrants, felony convictions and handgun purchases within the previous 30 days - all blocks to gun purchases.

Virginia State Police denied the application, with a message via computer: "Not at this time." Almost immediately they followed up with a phone call to Bob's: Keep the customer there, or call him back.

The customer was wanted in Baltimore on a murder charge.

Store owner Robert Marcus called the man, saying his application had been approved. About 20 minutes later, the customer returned.

Four state troopers and a Norfolk policeman waiting discreetly inside converged on him as he approached the counter, wrestled him to the ground and handcuffed him Monday afternoon, even as other customers continued to peruse merchandise.

Bob's Gun Shop employees said Roberts insisted to police that it wouldn't make sense for him to go in there if he knew there was an arrest warrant out on him.

"That's why it's so unusual for it to occur," Marcus, the shop's owner since 1989, said of the homicide arrest, "because most people are smarter than that."

He said his store gets one or two denials a week out of 100 attempted transactions but has never had one for something like this.

"The people of the commonwealth can rest easy tonight because there's a system in place and it works," Marcus said.

The quick turnaround does little to hinder Second Amendment rights, which is why gun-store owners are OK with it, he said."

Now isn't THIS a revelation...

I've met scant few gun-store owners "OK" with a citizen asking the governments permission to acquire a firearm, and even the ones that didn't think it was that much of a big deal wouldn't trumpet such a stupid thing to the media for all to see.

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED means what it means. Treating us all like criminals waiting to be wrestled to the floor isn't exactly what the Founders had in mind. Mr. Marcus wouldn't get a red cent of my money and I hope that every last one of his usual customers get wind of this idiot's idea of what freedom is all about.

Gun sales worry people living near recent shooting scenes

"Gun dealers report a 25% spike in sales brought on by a struggling economy.

They say people are scared this slumping economy will cause criminals to become more desperate.

It's been a question on the minds of many in Michiana considering what we've seen over the last four days."

Okay, stop the muzak, STOP THE MUZAK...

People...are...buying more guns...BECAUSE...they fear that a President Hussein would BAN many of them. His entire portfolio, such as it is, centers around marxist principles which FORBID the ownership of firearms by the unwashed proletariat. Interestingly enough, proletariat defines as WAGE EARNERS, which means that Hussein's base need not fear such policies.

"Police say rising gun sales isn't (sic) so much cause for concern, it's illegal use of guns.

Neighbors who live near the latest shooting say lately the mention of a gun is terrifying.

Patricia Brant says, “It's just too close to home. I'm getting ready to have a grandbaby coming and it's scary.”

Then your daughter should have thought long and hard about bringing a child into a free country, Patricia. Unfettered societies, you see, can be as scary, or even more so, than the Utopia's that you and your progeny are capable of living in.

"South Bend Police say it's stolen guns that they're worried about.

Captain Phil Trent says, “A lot of the guns we see in the hands of criminals were taken from handgun owners. Secure it properly in your residence to minimize the chance of it being stolen in a home burglary situation.”

Captain Trent says if you chose to buy a gun, you should know how to use it safely."

Which precludes ownership by most of those wearing a badge, Cap, and since I'm one of the ones the Founders picked to call the shots, no pun intended (fuck, no), then how's about spending some of those SWAT bucks on REAL training and leave the repelling to those silly spelunkers. And while we're a it, Cap, precisely WHO is it that gets to determine what's legal and illegal regarding guns?

Just another manufactured article by a liberal journaljizer. Nowhere does the author produce statistics from the town she is referring to. Are sales up in Michiana, as well as Florida, Texas, and Timbukfrickintu? Or just an excuse to...:

"Michiana is a small resort community of less than 200 residents. The village is located on the shores of Lake Michigan and on the Indiana/Michigan state border, hence the name Michiana was given in 1945. This is a quiet resort community where residents live unbothered by urban hassles of traffic and crime."

...scare the sheeple?

Thanks to The War on Guns for the story.

Newlywed Killed by Police in Case of Mistaken Identity

ANAHEIM, Calif. — "A newlywed killed by police after he stepped outside his home to confront suspected burglars was shot in a case of mistaken identity, police said.

Julian Alexander died after being shot twice in the chest by a police officer who was chasing four burglary suspects early Tuesday morning.

Police Chief John Welter said the officer ran into Alexander, mistook him for one of the four juvenile suspects and shot him.

"The last thing we ever want to do, No. 1, (is) take somebody's life," he said. "And we certainly don't want to take the life of someone who is mistakenly believed to be involved in some criminal activity."

"He was a good kid, trying to protect his house," said Alexander's mother-in-law Michelle Mooney. "And the police, instead of asking questions, they just shot first. Somebody has to be held responsible for this."

Welter would not release the officer's name, but said he was a 10-year veteran of the department. The officer was placed on paid leave pending an investigation."

They can release the name of the man murdered by a trigger happy...hey, it was dark and he wanted to go home...cop, but of course will keep the officer's identity a state secret.

Hiding is never a good idea. And if and when they DO grow a set of stones I'll pass the name along. The public deserves to know who the killers amongst us are. Then again, maybe the gun just went-off. Happens a lot to the police. Anyway, as this is written they strive mightily to get the cop off the hook so who knows what lame excuse will be forthcoming.

Well, Dayum...She's JUST A Broad, And An Old One At That...

"Delaware State Police stopped Alvina Vansickle from purchasing a .22-caliber pistol for self-defense because she was too old and a woman, said Superintendent Col. Thomas MacLeish.

The outrage that followed led to the revelation that Delaware State Police had been keeping lists of gun buyers for years; state law requires them to destroy these records after 60 days.

Without so much as a traffic ticket, the 81-year-old Lewes resident should have sailed through the mandatory state police background check when she tried to buy a Taurus revolver from Charlie Steele's Lewes gun shop last August.

Problems started after Steele made the required phone call to state police for approval of the firearms transaction.

An employee in the state police Firearms Transaction Approval Program noticed Vansickle's age and gender, and brought the sale to an immediate halt.

Vansickle's application was then routed to Sgt. Benjamin Nefosky, who heads the firearms approval unit.

According to MacLeish, the transaction was halted over concerns "based upon age and gender."

"To be very honest with you, we have a legal obligation under the law to do approvals," MacLeish said. "We also have an obligation to make sure we're safe, and paying due diligence."

MacLeish said the initial call taker "was concerned this individual never purchased a weapon before. Age and gender caused her to take caution."

As to whether age and gender are included in the state statute as legitimate reasons to reject a firearms purchase, MacLeish stated, "No, they are not."

"I believe there was caution taken on behalf of the call taker," he said. "It was done without malice."

Vansickle's purchase was eventually approved -- 10 days after the initial application -- after she and the dealer were interviewed by police about the purchase. A normal delay is three days."

Well now I've pretty much heard everything. And outrage is too gentle a description of my feelings over this. And where are the women's organizations, the million-mommy-morons, and/or ANY female oriented group that SHOULD be raising all kinds of hell?

Oh wait, sorry I forgot. If she was caught trying to use a men's room or some other silly thing they'd back the sister to the hilt, but, after all, real rights don't extend to ANYONE wanting to acquire an icky old gun.

Cookie Had It, I Stole It, So Go Read It All

The 2000 Election

"Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1"

Study: Police Not Ready To Protect America From Terrorists

"The threat posed by suicide bombers is already a reality for American law
enforcement agencies and personnel. The threat seems likely to grow in scope and
magnitude in the foreseeable future.37 Islamic extremists are continually refining suicide
bomber tactics, techniques and procedures in Iraq. Conclusion of the war in Iraq has the
potential to shift the focus of suicide bomber attacks from Iraq, Afghanistan, and the
Middle East to the United States. As the world watches suicide bombing evolve in the
Middle East, experts in the field of counter-terrorism continue to predict the eventual
emergence of the tactic in the United States. Law enforcement and first responders need
to be prepared to prevent and respond to the situation. The final opportunity for
prevention will reside with the ordinary cop on the beat who finds themself (sic) confronting a
suicide bomber."

See now, stop the presses. First responders in America, specifically the police, are not prepared to respond to a homicide bomber attack. So say the eggheads responsible for this study. They of course can't see the forest for the trees, and don't know that modern policemen want nothing to do with going after really tough bad guys, not with all of those speeders and jaywalkers and pot smokers and evil gun owners ripe for the pickings. If law enforcement was REALLY interested in protecting the country from attack, there'd be a helluva lot LESS fiddle fucking around with chump laws, and brave men and women chafing at the bit to find and arrest some badguy ass, and pronto.

Isn't happening. Doors get blown off their hinges when an ounce of pot is thought to be inside the domicile of some stupid ass schmuck who likes his weed too much, while gangs still rule many sections of many cities and the sale of all sorts of illegal drugs happens on every street corner in the hood.

Does anyone honestly believe that these same cowards who enforce unconstitutional laws and weep about the desire to go home at night, does anyone really think that these guys and gals are brave enough and patriotic enough to put it all on the line to help save America?

Who the hell do you think is behind the refusal to target certain ethnic, religious, and racial groups under the guise of being fair?

If you think it's just the ACLU and just the other liberal loons then think again. Crime is on the rise because the summons issuers have bought into the idea of their being special and more worthy of living then the rest of us.

Hurricane Katrina told us all we needed to know. So go ahead, eggheads; teach 'em all how to handle homicide bombers. Just don't expect many lives to be saved.

Horrid Trainer Watches As 8 Year-Old Kills Himself With An Uzi

WESTFIELD, Mass. — "An 8-year-old boy died after accidentally shooting himself in the head while firing an Uzi submachine gun under adult supervision at a gun fair.

The boy lost control of the weapon while firing it Sunday at the Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo at the Westfield Sportsman's Club, police Lt. Lawrence Vallierpratte said.

Police said the boy, Christopher Bizilj of Ashford, Conn., was with a certified instructor and called the death a "self-inflicted accidental shooting."

As the boy fired the Uzi, "the front end of the weapon went up with the backfire and he ended up receiving a round in his head," police Lt. Hipolito Nunez said. The boy died at a hospital.

The boy's father and older brother were also there at the time, a gun club member and school official said. Francis Mitchell, a longtime member and trustee of the club, said he was told the boy's father was supporting his son from behind when the shooting happened.

Although the death appeared to be an accident, officials were investigating.

It is legal in Massachusetts for children to fire a weapon if they have permission from a parent or legal guardian and are supervised by a properly certified and licensed instructor, Lt. Hipolito Nunez said. The name of the instructor helping the boy was not released.

The event ran in conjunction with C.O.P Firearms and Training."

An admittedly cursory glance at their website left me still wondering what C.O.P stands for, and it is rather suspicious that the name of the "instructor" was withheld; something usually done only when a summons-issuer is involved. Regardless, an instructor that lets a child shoot himself in the head, simply flat out sucks, and it does bespeak of the poor training available from law enforcement, the same sort who flaunt their ignorance by referring to "recoil" as "backfire".

Local law enforcement officials oppose proposal to allow open-carry firearms

Oklahoma: "Three local law enforcement officials are joining with others to oppose a Midwest City man’s attempt to pass an “open carry” law in Oklahoma.

The Associated Press said Donald Ohse has garnered 1,300 signatures in a campaign to get legislators to pass the law. Ohse has a concealed carry permit, but believes it would be safer to carry his firearm in the open.

“I’d be opposed to something like that,” Police Chief Steve Farmer said. “I think it’d make people more nervous if they saw a gun on someone walking down the street.”

“I think people might anticipate problems, and it could create some bad situations,” Farmer said.

Cherokee County Sheriff Norman Fisher said Wednesday that he has similar concerns about Ohse’s proposal.

“I don’t have a problem with the concealed carry law,” he said. “I think that’s working fine, but I think we’d be asking for trouble if people were allowed to carry a gun in the open.”

The Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association has also came out in opposition to the measure.

Fisher thinks such a proposal would “open up a can of worms.” He said people are required to pass a firearms course to receive a concealed carry permit, but he thinks continued training would be needed if a person could carry a firearm where it’s visible.

Northeastern State University Police Chief Clint Vernon had previously heard of Ohse’s proposal, and he sees problems with it – particularly in a school setting like NSU.

“If you walk into a school shooting situation and 15 people have guns on, you don’t know which one’s the bad guy,” Vernon said. “We have to sometimes make split-second decisions to save someone’s life or our own lives.”

He can foresee see innocent people getting hurt because they don’t know how to react when law enforcement enters a shooting scene."

Could'a, Should'a, Would'a.

It's all about THEM, after all, and not about exercising a right. And listen, as many have said with regards to a cop entering a shooting situation where lots of people have guns, here's a clue to LE: Just look for the dead guy and all the rest are the good guys who took him out.

Seriously now, why in all hell should ANYONE care what the help has to say about our right to bear arms. Approve of open-carry or despise it, it is up to the individual, and NOT the ticket-issuing boys and girls who ALL open carry because, DUH, it's the easiest way to get to a gun when getting to a gun is necessary.

And if the soccer mom's don't like it, then fuck 'em, nobody asked THEM either. Such irrational response to an inanimate object is better left in the hands of mental health care professionals and all any person of good will can recommend is that they and their ilk get help and leave the sane folks the hell alone.

When, precisely, did it happen? When did the servants and the nannies get the right to tell grown men what they could, or couldn't do?

The little commie's campaign cuts off interview with Joe Biden

Florida: "WFTV-Channel 9's Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. A friend says it's some of the best entertainment he's seen recently. What do you think?

West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama's comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn't being a Marxist with the "spreading the wealth" comment.

"Are you joking?" said Biden, who is Obama's running mate. "No," West said.

West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America's days as the world's leading power were over.

"I don't know who's writing your questions," Biden shot back.

Biden so disliked West's line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.

"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was "a result of her husband's experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West."

Here's a link to the interview: http://www.wftv.com/video/17790025/index.html.

WFTV news director Bob Jordan said, "When you get a shot to ask these candidates, you want to make the most of it. They usually give you five minutes."

Jordan said political campaigns in general pick and choose the stations they like. And stations often pose softball questions during the satellite interviews.

"Mr. Biden didn't like the questions," Jordan said. "We choose not to ask softball questions."

Jordan added, "I'm crying foul on this one."

Just too bad that more media outlets didn't ask a tough question or two along the way, in order to out these frightened little commies into whimpering and making a hasty retreat like all cowards do.

Can ANY of Obo's merry men answer a simple question.

For the Rio Linda viewers, that's whats called a rhetorical statement. Anyone with half a brain knows the answer.

Don't Say "Stick 'Em Up!"...Say "Cheese!"

Guns-for-cameras program aimed at Toronto shooters

"Toronto police launched an innovative gun amnesty program on Wednesday. It's dubbed Pixels for Pistols, and through it, police are offering to give out a Nikon digital camera to anyone turning in a firearm.

A handgun or assault rifle is worth a $400 Nikon Coolpix S52 and a shotgun nets a $250 Nikon Coolpix P60. The deal includes free photography lessons.

The amnesty program will run for four weeks, according to Henry's camera store, which is providing the cameras.

This might be a good idea for U.S. cities with a lot of street crime. Other amnesty programs offer cash ($100 assault rifles, $50 for shot guns in Washington, D.C. last year) but cameras of much greater value might be just the enhanced financial incentive, and possible artistic motivator, that some gun owners need."

So lemme get this straight...

Criminals will stop being criminals if they can get a camera.

All they really ever needed to go straight, was a camera.

I see.

Bingo Manager Offs Thieving Punk

No Charges In Bingo Shooting

By Jessica Taloney Reporter

Pensacola, FL.
"No charges will likely be filed against the manager of a Pensacola bingo hall who took the law into his own hands.

Escambia County Sheriff's deputies say Chad England shot and killed an armed robber who stormed into Beachside Bingo on Jackson Street in Pensacola.

Investigators say Alton Prewitt, 20, entered the bingo hall around 10pm Wednesday. According to witnesses, Prewitt demanded money and fired at least one shot in the ceiling before England grabbed his own gun and fired back.

Prewitt was pronounced dead on the scene. No one else in the bingo hall was hurt.

"It looks like a clear case of self defense," says Glenn Austin, spokesperson for the Escambia County Sheriff's Office. Austin says he believes England was within his rights to shoot the suspect. "He was defending himself and everyone else in the parlor," he says.

Florida has a law that allows residents to protect themselves when they are attacked. The state's "Stand Your Ground Law" makes it legal to use deadly force against an intruder."

"...who took the law into his own hands."

Not one to judge a book by its cover, (cough, bullshit) I'd say that dandy Ms Baloney, strike that, Taloney, was aghast as aghast can get upon learning that poor lil Alton got all dead and shit, and maybe even more so since the armed citizen who deadened this punk wasn't to be hassled by the gestapo just for taking out the garbage.

As for me, I just love it when the Yellowstreamers get all huffy.

You Go, Girl...

Teacher shoots and kills intruder

Tampa, Florida - "A Hillsborough County middle school teacher shot and killed a burglar who burst into her home Friday morning.

Sheriff's deputies say 62-year-old Juanita Enzor was in her bedroom around 5 a.m. when a man kicked in the front door. Detectives say when the man confronted Enzor, she grabbed her gun and fired, shooting the man in the chest.

The bleeding, injured suspect then started attacking Enzor, but she managed to escape and run from her home.

Deputies arrived at the scene on Kirkland Drive and found the suspect dead inside.

Enzor was slightly injured in the attack. She is a 6th grade teacher at Memorial Middle School in Tampa.

The suspect has been identified as 40-year-old Mark C. Johnson."

Newlywed Watches as Husband Drowns on Honeymoon

"A British man drowned during his honeymoon in Spain while his helpless wife watched in horror, the Daily Mail reported.

Russell Hawkes, 39, was swept out to sea Monday by a strong undercurrent at the Spanish resort Fuengirola.

His new wife, 31-year-old Danielle, alerted surfers with her screams.

They pulled Hawkes from the water but were unable to revive him, the Mail reported.

Danielle told the newspaper that she was outraged because there was no red flag warning bathers about undercurrents, and a first aid station on the beach was shuttered, even though the ocean was rough that day.

“I'm furious there was no warning about the state of the sea and the Red Cross hut was closed,” Danielle told the Mail. “We were told it was because it was out of season.”

Surfer Ivan Rosado, who helped drag Hawkes from the water, said police were little help.

“About eight of us had to pull him out of the water using our boards,” the 22-year-old told the Mail. “The two local police officers at the scene didn't seem to want to get their shoes wet and just left us to it. It was disgusting.”

In a nutshell, what ails the western man.

And dumbass woman, too.

Poor Danielle had no one around to tell her that swimming in the off season, when the surf is angry and powerful, is a damned silly ass thing to do. Her nanny state let her down, and bigtime.

Poor Danielle can't even understand how fortunate she is not to have been impregnated with the seed of a blithering idiot, because there isn't a waving flag to tell her that, too.

And of course the cops were no help. Sheesh. They want to go home at night. Safe, and sound, and dry. Let's not forget dry.

We Pause For A Moment For This Message From The Religion Of Peace

Islamic Clerics in Malaysia Ban Tomboys for Being 'Immoral'

"Malaysia's main body of Islamic clerics has issued an edict banning tomboys in the Muslim-majority country, ruling that girls who act like boys violate the tenets of Islam, an official said Friday.

The National Fatwa Council forbade the practice of girls behaving or dressing like boys during a meeting Thursday in northern Malaysia, said Harussani Idris Zakaria, the mufti of northern Perak state, who attended the gathering.

Harussani said an increasing number of Malaysian girls behave like tomboys, and that some of them engage in homosexuality. Homosexuality is not explicitly banned in Malaysia, but it is effectively illegal under a law that prohibits sex acts "against the order of nature."

Harussani said the council's ruling was not legally binding because it has not been passed into law, but that tomboys should be banned because their actions are immoral.

"It doesn't matter if it's a law or not. When it's wrong, it's wrong. It is a sin," Harussani told The Associated Press. "Tomboy (behavior) is forbidden in Islam."

Under the edict, girls are forbidden to sport short hair and dress, walk and act like boys, Harussani said. Boys should also not act like girls, he said.

"They must respect God. God created them as boys, they must behave like boys. God created them as girls, they must act like girls," he said."

Ut oh. Looks like sure stocks to buy into are scaffold and rope manufacturers in Mal-Asia.

Could SNL Get Away With Mocking Michelle Obama?

by Pat Buchanan

"Perhaps the only institution in America whose approval rating is beneath that of Congress is the media.

Both have won their reputations the hard way. They earned them.

Consider the fawning indulgence shown insider Joe Biden with the dripping contempt visited on outsider Sarah Palin.

Twice last weekend, Biden grimly warned at closed-door meetings that a great crisis is coming early in the term of President Obama:

"Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. ... Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said … we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

A "generated crisis"? By whom? Moscow? Beijing? Tehran?

This is an astonishing statement from a chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee who has access to the same intelligence as George Bush. Joe was warning of a crisis like the Berlin Wall of July 1961, where JFK called for a tripling of the draft and ordered a call-up of reserves, or the missile crisis where U.S. pilots like John McCain were minutes away from bombing nuclear missile sites in Cuba and killing the Russians manning them.

Is Russia about to move on the Crimea? Is Israel about to launch air strikes on Iran's nuclear sites? What is Joe talking about?

If one assumes Joe is a serious man, we have a right to know.

Instead, what we got was Obama's airy dismissal of Joe's words as a "rhetorical flourish" and a media – rather than demanding that Joe hold a press conference – acting as Obama surrogates parroting the talking points that Joe was just saying that new presidents always face tests.

Had John McCain made that hair-raising statement, he would have been accused of fear mongering about a new 9/11. The media would have run with the story rather than have smothered it.

Contrasting McCain with his hero, Joe declared a few weeks back, "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and ... said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"

Nice historical reference. Except when the market crashed in 1929, Hoover was president, and there was no television.

Can one imagine what the press would have done to Sarah Palin had she exhibited such ignorance of history. Or Dan Quayle?

Joe gets a pass because everybody likes Joe.

Fine. But Joe also has a record of 36 years in the Senate.

Has anyone ever asked Joe about his own and his party's role in cutting off aid to South Vietnam, leading to the greatest strategic defeat in U.S. history and the Cambodian holocaust? Has anyone ever asked Joe about the role he and his party played in working to block Reagan's deployment of Pershing missiles in Europe, and SDI, which Gorbachev concedes broke the Soviets and won the Cold War?

In the most crucial vote he ever cast – to give Bush a blank check for war in Iraq – Joe concedes he got it wrong.

Is Joe's record of having been wrong on Vietnam, wrong in the Cold War, wrong on the Iraq war, less important than whether Sarah Palin tried to get fired a rogue-cop brother-in-law who Tasered her 10-year-old nephew to "teach him a lesson"?

"I've forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know," says Joe humbly. Given his record, it is understandable Joe has forgotten so much of it.

Saturday, the New York Times did a takeout on Cindy McCain that delved back into her problem with prescription pills. Yet when Hillary's campaign manager, Mark Penn, brought up Obama's cocaine use on "Hardball," he was savaged by folks for whom the Times is the gold standard.

The people apparently had a "right to know" of Bush's old DUI arrest a week before the 2000 election, but no right to know about how and when Obama was engaged in the criminal use of cocaine.

The media cannot get enough of the "Saturday Night Live" impersonations of Palin as a bubblehead. News shows pick up the Tina Fey clips and run them and run them to the merriment of all.

Can one imagine "Saturday Night Live" doing weekly send-ups of Michelle Obama and her "I've never been proud" of my country, this "just downright mean" America, using a black comedienne to mimic and mock her voice and accent?

"Saturday Night Live" would be facing hate-crime charges.

How do we know? When the New Yorker ran a cartoon of Michelle in an Angela-Davis afro with an AK-47 slung over her shoulder, New Yorker editors had to go on national television to swear they were not mocking Michelle, but the conservatives who have so caricatured Michelle and the Messiah.

Is there a media double standard? You betcha."

The vast majority of the modern mainstream media's business is...entertainment. And politically correct entertainment at that. Can't poke fun at ugly Mrs. Obama because ugly...inside AND out...Mrs. Obama is a negro. Governor Palin is a beautiful white woman, and if it's one thing liberals cannot tolerate it's smart beautiful white women. Unless, of course, they happen to be air headed lefty actresses who think they're smart. Just have a look at the current crop of female politico's. On second thought, DON'T have a look, it'll make you ill. Sorta like staring too long at ugly Michelle.

News is news and everybody covers the same old news so the decision was made a long time ago to make the same old news entertaining. Doesn't matter if it is what liberals consider entertaining, since Conservative old Ma and Pa Kettle will watch anyways because where else can they get the local weather forecast along with a crop report and hog futures. How else can one explain dreadfully un-funny offerings such as The Daily Show. All Jon Stewart need do is yak away with a picture of Bush caricatured to resemble a chimp in the background and liberal sides are split all across the nation.

Now, one thing both sides of the aisle can agree upon is that Senator Joe Biden is entertaining, so Senator Joe Biden gets a lot of positive press. Lefties adore old Joe because he can act like he knows what he's talking about, and Conservatives think old Joe is funny as all hell. The man cannot string two coherent words together in the same sentence, but damn, he looks like he could if he really wanted to. Who cares if he's wrong most of the time; the guy just gives new meaning to how wrong should be handled.

October 23, 1983

In Beirut, 231 Marines were killed by islamic terrorists.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of this infamy. I despise these scumbag sons of bitches even more now than I did then, and wiping the entire cult from the face of the earth wouldn't be enough to atone for their atrocities throughout history.

Semper Fidelis. Make sure to save me a good seat, and by the last drop of blood in my veins I swear that we'll never forget you or your sacrifice.

Ann Coulter Wants Obama To Denounce Ayers NOW

"The media are acting as if they completely and fully vetted Obama during the Democratic primaries and that's why they are entitled to send teams of researchers into Alaska to analyze Sarah Palin's every expense report.

In fact, the mainstream media did no vetting. They seem to have all agreed, "OK, none of us will get into this business with Jeremiah Wright, 'Tony' Rezko, Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers and everyone's impression of an angry Michelle Obama on 'The Jerry Springer Show.'"

During one of the Democratic primary debates, Hillary Clinton was hissed for mentioning Syrian national Rezko, and during another, ABC moderator George Stephanopoulos nearly lost his career for asking Obama one question about William Ayers.

In the past week, TV anchors have taken to claiming that Obama "refuted" John McCain's statement that Obama launched his political career at the home of former Weather Underground leader Ayers.

No, Obama "denied" it; he didn't "refute" it. If "denying" something is the same as "refuting" it, then maybe the establishment media can quit harping on Palin's qualifications to be president, since she too "refuted" that by denying it.

Back before the media realized it needed to lie about Obama launching his political career at Ayers' house, the Los Angeles Times provided an eyewitness account from a liberal who attended the event.

"When I first met Barack Obama, he was giving a standard, innocuous little talk in the living room of those two legends-in-their-own-minds, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. They were launching him -- introducing him to the Hyde Park community as the best thing since sliced bread."

The Times has now stripped this item from its Web page, but the great blogger Patterico has preserved it for posterity on his Web page.

Obama's glib remark that "Bill Ayers is a professor of education in Chicago; 40 years ago when I was 8 years old he engaged in despicable acts with a domestic group. I have roundly denounced those attacks" -- doesn't answer anything.

First of all, the fact that Ayers is a professor of education proves only one thing: He is dumber than any person without an education degree.

Ayers is such an imbecile, we ought to be amazed that he's teaching at a university -- even when you consider that it's an ed school -- except all former violent radicals end up teaching. Roughly 80 percent of former Weathermen are full college professors -- 99 percent if you don't include the ones killed in shoot-outs with the police or in prison -- i.e., not yet pardoned by a Democratic president.

Any other profession would have banned a person like Ayers. Universities not only accept former domestic terrorists, but also move them to the front of the line. In addition to Ayers, among those once on the FBI's most-wanted list who ended up in cushy college teaching positions are Bernardine Dohrn (Northwestern University), Mark Rudd (a junior college in New Mexico) and Angela Davis (History of Consciousness Department, University of California at Santa Cruz).

While others were hard at work on Ph.D.s, Susan Rosenberg was conspiring to kill cops and blow up buildings, and was assembling massive caches of explosives. This put her on the fast track for a teaching position at Hamilton College!

Despite having absolutely no qualifications to teach, having earned only a master's degree in "writing" through a correspondence course, Rosenberg was offered a position at Hamilton within a few years of President Clinton pardoning her in 2001, releasing her from a 58-year prison sentence for participating in the murder of cops and possessing more than 700 pounds of explosives.

But Obama thinks it's a selling point to say that Ayers is a college professor.

Hundreds of college professors have signed a letter vouching for Ayers, which would be like Lester Maddox producing a letter from George Wallace assuring us that Maddox is a respected member of the community. No, really, I've got the letter right here!

The media keep citing the fact that the money Obama and Ayers distributed to idiotic left-wing causes came -- as The New York Times put it -- "from Walter H. Annenberg, the billionaire publisher and philanthropist and President Richard M. Nixon's ambassador to the United Kingdom."

Great Republican though he was, Walter Annenberg died in 2002. The money came from the Annenberg Foundation, which, like all foundations, distributes money to projects that its founder would despise. John Kerry ran for president on the late John Heinz's money. That didn't mean Republican Heinz was endorsing Kerry.

As John O'Sullivan says, any foundation that is not explicitly right-wing will become a radical left-wing organization within a few years. It could be the Association of University Women, the American Association of Retired People, the American Rose Growers, the Foundation for the Study of Railroad Engineers or the Choral Society of Newport Beach.

Left-wing radicals swarm to free foundation money, where they can give gigantic grants to one another and they will never have to do a day's work. That's exactly what Obama and Ayers did with Annenberg's money.

None of the Annenberg money went to schoolchildren. It went to Ayers' left-wing crank friends to write moronic papers that we hope no one ever reads.

Instead of teaching students reading and writing, Ayers thinks they should be taught to rebel against America's "imperialist" social structure. In 2006, Ayers was in Venezuela praising communist dictator Hugo Chavez, saying, "We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution."

He has backed a line of schoolbooks such as one titled "Teaching Science for Social Justice."

Forget about Ayers' domestic terrorism when Obama "was 8 years old." Does he agree with Ayers' idiot ideas right now? "

Believe me when I tell ya that such a question will NOT be asked by ANY member of the Yellowstream Media, and should a genuine AMERICAN put Obo or one of his cronies on the spot, they'll simply clam up.

Then have the media label the questioner a racist.

The one good thing coming out of all of this is the fact that we've seen the media at its worst, and if we weren't savvy to their commie asses before, we sure are now.

Messenger Special Report: There's A Chance Then That We'll Be Rid Of..

Study: More U.S. Women Killing Themselves

Yeti Footprint Reportedly Found in Himalayas

Japanese explorers excitedly announced Monday that they'd found a footprint left by an Abominable Snowman on Dhaulagiri, one of the tallest of the Himalayas.

"The footprints were about 20 centimeters [eight inches] long and looked like a human's," Yoshiteru Takahashi, head of something called Yeti Project Japan, told Agence France-Presse in Kathmandu, Nepal.

However, an eight-inch foot would amount to about a size zero shoe size for an adult American male, meaning that this particular yeti may be rather short of stature.

"This means nothing," Dr. Takahashi said when asked about the possibility of a miniature yeti, "we Asians we tiny little things when standing next to normal modern human and particularly someone like Shaquille O'neal, yes, so maybe this yeti he also eat nothing but rice too, no?"

Another "Anti" Defines The Constitution For Us

by Curt Brown

"Just think back to when your kids or grandkids were playing Little League ball of some sort ... football, baseball, soccer and how some parents made a real jerk of themselves. Some of the worst displays of bad temper I've ever seen was in the stands while watching some of those games. Parents teaching their kids some very bad habits.

Well, now the Springfield-Greene County Parks Department is requesting that Springfield City Council ban guns from sport fields and parks, and I think it's a great idea. We certainly don't need people carrying guns to parks where children play and families have picnics and the like. Parks should be for fun, not for hate.

Of course, the "gun groups," such as the NRA, are against any such action. They always seem to fear that "the boogeyman" is going to get them. I contend the NRA won't ever be happy until we all have bazookas on our backs or rocket launchers in our homes. For the average citizen to have machine guns, Uzies, etc. is absolutely absurd! Now, don't get me wrong, I'm OK with hunters having guns; even there, they don't need an automatic gun to deer hunt. After all it's supposed to be a "sport" not a "killing." The deer should have a chance to get away too.

The gun folks are always quoting the Second Amendment, but they never read the entire amendment. It reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." It seems to me that "A well regulated Militia" refers, in today's world, to the police, patrol, sheriff, National Guard and our thousands of military forces ... not the average Joe Blow. All too many times the average person forgets to keep their weapons under lock and key, where their kids and grandkids can't get their hands on them."

Is it at ALL possible that this dork has yet to hear of the Heller decision? Even if he remains so out of touch, it's difficult to believe that all he has to offer is the same old liberal gun-grabbing reference to misinterpreting the 2nd.

And know what, the vast majority of us really don't care about what things "seem" to you, Curt, and your commie ass wouldn't even be worth mentioning were it not for the fact that whenever the nation's low-lives pipe up with anti-American drivel it behooves some of us to bring it to the attention of the real men of the world.

And not for nothing, Curt, but it's not Joe Blow anymores, it's Joe The Plumber.

On Sale Now...

Guns & Ammo gun-grabbing writer Dick Metcalf had this to say in the "Guns & Ammo Book Of Personal Defense".

"... a license requirement for a citizen to bear arms for defense in public should be no more repugnant to responsible firearms owners than the laws that require completion of a driver's training course or test..."

One of the reasons I stopped buying any of the big name gun magazines. They're either running nothing but commercials for whomever purchases the most ad space, or telling us that the times have changed and we should get with the program.

To Mr. Metcalf, I have this to offer: I'll await your directions as to where one might find "drivers license" mentioned in the Bill of Rights before calling you a low-life, ass kissing herd animal that believes Big-Brother should be worshiped. Whoops. I just did.

My bad.

Limbaugh: Where are the inexperienced, white liberals Powell has endorsed?

"Rush Limbaugh said Colin Powell's decision to get behind Barack Obama appeared to be very much tied to Obama's status as the first African-American with a chance to become president.

"Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race," Limbaugh wrote in an e-mail. "OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with."

As for Powell's statement of concern this morning about the sort of Supreme Court justices a President McCain might appoint, Limbaugh wrote: "I was also unaware of his dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Reagan and Bush making him a four-star [general] and secretary of state and appointing his son to head the FCC. Yes, let's hear it for transformational figures."

It was really only a matter of time until the Obama campaign made Powell an offer he couldn't refuse. Were Powell to have been a genuine supporter of all things liberal he would've been front and center all along with regards to standing up for Obo but it took him until a few weeks before the election to try and confuse enough independents and fence-sitting RINO's that Hussein isn't all that bad, really he isn't.

Just another traitor spitting on his oath.

And The Difference Is...

As Plain As The Ears On A Jughead

Thanks to The Smallest Minority

Hussein Still Afraid Of Those Evil Guns

"I am not in favor of concealed weapons," Obama said. "I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."

Barack Obama--Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, April 2, 2008.

I don't particularly give a rats ass what this cowardly Marxist is, or is not, in favor of, as a President swears to uphold the Constitution and not his personal favor of the day. But neither he nor his supporters care enough about the real America to see just how twisted these attitudes happen to be.

Elect this prick and we'll be fighting for our rights, and I ain't talking about pragmatic essay's whining about how someone should do-something but remain Mary Poppins. He sits his crazy ass in the Oval Office and ALL bets are off.

SMEARS FROM THE SEWER

Citizen Joe Versus The Angry Left

by Michelle Malkin

"SIX-TERM Sen. Joe Biden's got some nerve going after citizen Joe the Plumber. But the entrenched politician from Delaware had no choice. Obama-Biden simply can't tolerate an outspoken citizen successfully painting the Democratic ticket as socialist overlords. And so a dirty, desperate war against Joe Wurzelbacher is on.

The left's political plumbers are attacking the messenger, rummaging through his personal life and predictably wielding the race card again."

Finding it impossible to attack the FACTS that Joe spoke of, the insane lefties...including the Yellowstream Media but of course...learned everything up to and including Joe's favorite ice cream but still can't show us one document created by Barry before Ayers did his ghostwriting.

We're being set-up and bigtime. Can any of you even begin to tolerate the thought of a terrorists apprentice being the leader of the free world?

Time To Forget All The Folderol And Check In With...

PALADIN

Ann Coulter And Yellowstream Media Polling

"With an African-American running for president this year, there has been a lot of chatter about the "Bradley effect," allowing the media to wail about institutional racism in America.

Named after Tom Bradley, who lost his election for California governor in 1982 despite a substantial lead in the polls, the Bradley effect says that black candidates will poll much stronger than the actual election results.

First of all, if true, this is the opposite of racism: It is fear of being accused of racism. For most Americans, there is nothing more terrifying than the prospect of being called a racist. It's scarier than flood or famine, terrorist attacks or flesh-eating bacteria. To some, it's even scarier than "food insecurity."

Political correctness has taught people to lie to pollsters rather than be forced to explain why they're not voting for the African-American.

This is how two typical voters might answer a pollster's question: "Whom do you support for president?"

Average Obama voter: "Obama." (Name of average Obama voter: "Mickey Mouse.")

Average McCain voter: "I'm voting for McCain, but I swear it's just about the issues. It's not because Obama's black. If Barack Obama were a little more moderate -- hey, I'd vote for Colin Powell. But my convictions force me to vote for the candidate who just happens to be white. Say, do you know where I can get Patti LaBelle tickets?"

In addition to the social pressure to constantly prove you're not a racist, apparently there is massive social pressure to prove you're not a Republican. No one is lying about voting for McCain just to sound cool.

Reviewing the polls printed in The New York Times and The Washington Post in the last month of every presidential election since 1976, I found the polls were never wrong in a friendly way to Republicans. When the polls were wrong, which was often, they overestimated support for the Democrat, usually by about 6 to 10 points.

In 1976, Jimmy Carter narrowly beat Gerald Ford 50.1 percent to 48 percent. And yet, on Sept. 1, Carter led Ford by 15 points. Just weeks before the election, on Oct. 16, 1976, Carter led Ford in the Gallup Poll by 6 percentage points -- down from his 33-point Gallup Poll lead in August.

Reading newspaper coverage of presidential elections in 1980 and 1984, I found myself paralyzed by the fear that Reagan was going to lose.

In 1980, Ronald Reagan beat Carter by nearly 10 points, 51 percent to 41 percent. In a Gallup Poll released days before the election on Oct. 27, it was Carter who led Reagan 45 percent to 42 percent.

In 1984, Reagan walloped Walter Mondale 58.8 percent to 40 percent, -- the largest electoral landslide in U.S. history. But on Oct. 15, The New York Daily News published a poll showing Mondale with only a 4-point deficit to Reagan, 45 percent to 41 percent. A Harris Poll about the same time showed Reagan with only a 9-point lead. The Oct. 19 New York Times/CBS News Poll had Mr. Reagan ahead of Mondale by 13 points. All these polls underestimated Reagan's actual margin of victory by 6 to 15 points.

In 1988, George H.W. Bush beat Michael Dukakis by a whopping 53.4 percent to 45.6 percent. A New York Times/CBS News Poll on Oct. 5 had Bush leading the Greek homunculus by a statistically insignificant 2 points -- 45 percent to 43 percent. (For the kids out there: Before it became a clearinghouse for anti-Bush conspiracy theories, CBS News was considered a credible journalistic entity.)

A week later -- or one tank ride later, depending on who's telling the story -- on Oct. 13, Bush was leading Dukakis in The New York Times Poll by a mere 5 points.

Admittedly, a 3- to 6-point error is not as crazily wrong as the 6- to 15-point error in 1984. But it's striking that even small "margin of error" mistakes never seem to benefit Republicans.

In 1992, Bill Clinton beat the first President Bush 43 percent to 37.7 percent. (Ross Perot got 18.9 percent of Bush's voters that year.) On Oct. 18, a Newsweek Poll had Clinton winning 46 percent to 31 percent, and a CBS News Poll showed Clinton winning 47 percent to 35 percent.

So in 1992, the polls had Clinton 12 to 15 points ahead, but he won by only 5.3 points.

In 1996, Bill Clinton beat Bob Dole 49 percent to 40 percent. And yet on Oct. 22, 1996, The New York Times/CBS News Poll showed Clinton leading by a massive 22 points, 55 percent to 33 percent.

In 2000, which I seem to recall as being fairly close, the October polls accurately described the election as a virtual tie, with either Bush or Al Gore 1 or 2 points ahead in various polls. But in one of the latest polls to give either candidate a clear advantage, The New York Times/CBS News Poll on Oct. 3, 2000, showed Gore winning by 45 percent to 39 percent.

In the last presidential election the polls were surprisingly accurate -- not including the massively inaccurate Election Day exit poll. In the end, Bush beat John Kerry 50.7 percent to 48.3 percent in 2004. Most of the October polls showed the candidates in a dead-heat, with Bush 1 to 3 points ahead. So either pollsters got a whole lot better starting in 2004, or Democrats stole more votes in that election than we even realized."

My gut still tells me that Barry the community crook is unelectable, but perhaps that's nothing more than wishful thinking. Recently, I mentioned to an elderly acquaintance of mine how the Palestinians were forking over tons of cash for Obo's campaign, and Sam, a Jew, all but jumped out of his skin in denying that so crass a thing could possibly happen. And therein lies the rub-out.

A LOT, and I do mean a LOT of folks get their news from the Yellowstream Media and haven't clue one as to what's really going down. It is entirely possible that this lowlife scumbag could slip in ahead of the posse.

Tampa's 'Batman' Arrested for Wearing Mask

TAMPA, Fla. — "In the comics, Batman usually manages to stay a few steps ahead of disapproving police officers, but Tampa's own Caped Crusader wasn't so lucky.

Far from Gotham's crime-infested alleys, 21-year-old Walsh Ian Nichols frequently patrols the nightclubs of Ybor City dressed as the Dark Knight. But Tampa police arrested Nichols Friday for violating a state law that forbids wearing a mask on a public right of way.

A police spokeswoman acknowledged that the law is rarely enforced but said Nichols had been warned several weeks earlier about wearing the mask.

Nichols was released a few hours after his arrest on $500 bail. Undeterred by police keeping his mask as evidence, Nichols told the St. Petersburg Times that he has a spare.

This particular law was enacted to prevent law enforcement...as the summons-issuers like referring to themselves...from inundating highways and byways with ninja-like strike teams of masked marauders. Taking umbrage, certain of the pissed-off constabulary's insist upon arresting any and all citizens who are out in public so disguised, because if THEY cannot, then NO ONE can.

More From The Runaway Bestseller: "Dreams From My Father"

"...but since I never actually said "no", it can't be considered rape. And to illustrate how naive I truly was, for the longest time I didn't quite "get" what step-dad meant when he'd shout "Time to stoke the white owl, Barry!", even though I sort of understood that he was not referring to adjourning to the parlor where we men could savor fine cigars. I refer back to such memories because conventional wisdom dictates that what happens to the boy molds him into the man he is to become, and I certainly am proof positive that this is not correct. Were certain instances of tough love to have distinctly warped my perspective on, for instance, firearms, then I'd never have used, and forever kept possession of the little derringer step-dad gifted me on my 11th birthday. Yes, I'll admit to have been a trifle frightened when he whipped it out and said it was to be mine, but I took it from him anyway and carefully hid it in the box beneath my favorite toe shoes, safely away from prying eyes. It was only by the merest vagary of random chance that I happened to be fondling it under my blanket when the lights went out on that fateful night. But I was stretched out on my tummy when the sudden intrusion came, in no way shape or form positioned properly for a quick discharge. After 15 or 20 minutes I did manage to say "no", but in all fairness this was before all of those lengthy diction lessons and my utterance certainly could have been interpreted as "moe", as in, "give me moe." The fact that it increased to a fever pitch lends credence to such a consideration, and, I hasten to add, such vigor was becoming not a little bit painful. I was twisting and turning and squirming for all I was worth by the time I was able to point the little thing back in the direction of the unrelenting pounding, and summoning all of my strength did indeed squeeze off a sharp crack. You cannot even begin to imagine my confusion when a high pitched and distinctly feminine voice let loose a scream of protest. Luckily I missed, but granny never did fully recover and what she did with her favorite broom is a mystery to me right to this very day..."

One in three recent Atlanta Police Academy graduates have criminal records

"Keovongsa Siharath was arrested in Henry County on charges he punched his stepfather.

Jeffrey Churchill was charged with assault in an altercation with a woman in a mall parking lot.

Calvin Thomas was taken into custody in DeKalb County on a concealed weapons charge.

All three are now officers with the Atlanta Police Department.

More than one-third of recent Atlanta Police Academy graduates have been arrested or cited for a crime, according to a review of their job applications. The arrests ranged from minor offenses such as shoplifting to violent charges including assault. More than one-third of the officers had been rejected by other law enforcement agencies, and more than half of the recruits admitted using marijuana.

“On its face, it’s troubling and disturbing,” said Vincent Fort, a state senator from Atlanta. “It would be very troubling that people might be hitting the streets to serve and protect and they have histories that have made them unqualified to serve on other departments.”

But Atlanta police say it’s not so simple. Officials have been trying without success for more than a decade to grow the department

to 2,000 officers, an effort hurt by this year’s budget crisis. With competition for recruits intense among law enforcement agencies, Atlanta has had to make concessions.

“We would like, in an ideal world, to see every applicant with a clean record, but obviously that’s not reality,” said Atlanta police Lt. Elder Dancy, who runs the department’s recruitment unit. “I don’t think you’ll find any departments who hire only applicants with squeaky-clean records.”

Bullshit. These are precisely the people who are drawn to such jobs, and without whom there'd BE no police department(s).

Obama's Speech-Police Kick It Into High Gear

'I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors," Barack Obama told a crowd in Elko, Nev. "I want you to talk to them, whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face." Actually, Obama supporters are doing a lot more than getting into people's faces. They seem determined to shut people up.

That's what Obama supporters, alerted by campaign e-mails, did when conservative Stanley Kurtz appeared on Milt Rosenberg's WGN radio program in Chicago. Kurtz had been researching Obama's relationship with unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers.

Obama fans jammed WGN's phone lines and sent in hundreds of protest e-mails. The message was clear: We'll make trouble for you if you let anyone make the case against The One.

Other Obama supporters have threatened critics with criminal prosecution. In September, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce warned citizens that they would bring criminal libel prosecutions against anyone who made statements against Obama that were "false."

I had been under the impression that the Alien and Sedition Acts had gone out of existence in 1801-02. Not so, apparently, in metropolitan St. Louis.

Similarly, the Obama campaign called for a criminal investigation of the American Issues Project when it ran ads highlighting Obama's ties to Ayers.

These attempts to shut down political speech have become routine for liberals. Congressional Democrats sought to reimpose the "fairness doctrine" on broadcasters, which until it was repealed in the 1980s required equal time for different points of view. The motive was plain: to shut down the one conservative-leaning communications medium, talk radio. Liberal talk-show hosts have mostly failed to draw audiences, and many liberals can't abide having citizens hear contrary views.

To their credit, some liberal old-timers - like House Appropriations Chairman David Obey - voted against the "fairness doctrine," in line with their longstanding support of free speech. But you can expect the "fairness doctrine" to get another vote if Barack Obama wins and Democrats increase their congressional majorities.

Then there's the Democrats' "card-check" legislation, which would abolish secret-ballot elections in determining whether employees are represented by unions. The unions' strategy is obvious: Send a few thugs over to employees' homes - we know where you live - and get them to sign cards that will trigger a union victory without giving employers a chance to be heard.

Once upon a time, liberals prided themselves, with considerable reason, as the staunchest defenders of free speech. Union leaders like George Meany and Walter Reuther were ardent defenders of the First Amendment.

Today's liberals seem to be taking their marching orders from other quarters. Specifically, from the college campuses where administrators have for years been disciplining and subjecting to sensitivity training any students who dare to utter thoughts that liberals find offensive. The campuses that used to pride themselves as zones of free expression are now the least free part of our society."

For many of us, Barack Obama is a nightmare come true. As anti-American as a man can get and still keep a straight face while lying about his love of country, he and his rabid supporters fully intend to gut the Constitution and do their level best to turn America into a France with balls, but not for long.

His not-so-veiled economic message is clear. Massive tax increases for every small business that won't play ball and by that I mean hire blacks and KEEP them hired no matter what. Because make no mistake about it, just as ACORN funnels tax dollars into free homes for those who disdain the very thought of actually working for them, an Obama Presidency along with a malleable Congress would tax business unmercifully, but offer plenty of loopholes for what in essence would be no-show jobs.

And there you have the beginning of the end of one of America's strengths. Its dedicated working class that out performs everyone else on the planet.

Or at least USED to until affirmative action.

And free speech, along with the right to keep and bear arms?

Say goodnight, Gracie.

Spreading The Virus

"FOR years, ACORN had combined manipulation of the CRA with intimidation-protest tactics to force banks to lower credit standards. Its crusade, with help from Democrats in Congress, to push these high-risk "subprime" loans on banks is at the root of today's economic meltdown.

When the role of ACORN and congressional Democrats in the mortgage crisis is pointed out, Democrats reply that banks subject to the CRA represent only about a quarter of the loans that led to our current troubles. In fact, the problem goes way beyond the CRA.

As ACORN ran its campaigns against local banks, it quickly hit a roadblock. Banks would tell ACORN they could afford to reduce their credit standards by only a little - since Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the federal mortgage giants, refused to buy up those risky loans for sale on the "secondary market."

That is, the CRA wasn't enough. Unless Fannie and Freddie were willing to relax their credit standards as well, local banks would never make home loans to customers with bad credit histories or with too little money for a downpayment.

So ACORN's Democratic friends in Congress moved to force Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to dispense with normal credit standards. Throughout the early '90s, they imposed ever-increasing subprime-lending quotas on Fannie and Freddie.

But then the Republicans won control of Congress - and Rep. Roukema scheduled her hearing. ACORN went into action to protect its golden goose.

IT struck as Roukema aired her concerns at that hearing. Pro testers, led by ACORN President Maud Hurd, stood up and began chanting, "CRA has got to stay!" and "Banks for greed, not for need!" The protesters then demanded the microphone.

With the hearing interrupted and the demonstrators refusing to leave, Roukema called the Capital Police, who arrested Hurd and four others for "disorderly conduct in a Capital building" - a charge carrying a penalty of a $500 fine, six months in prison or both. As the police arrived, two of the protesters menacingly approached Roukema's desk, still demanding the hearing microphone.

Requests to the Capital Police to release the activists from Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Rep. Joe Kennedy (D-Mass,) failed. Then Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) showed up at the jail and refused to leave until the protesters were released; the Capital Police relented.

Meanwhile, instead of repudiating ACORN's intimidation tactics, Rep. Kennedy berated Roukema for arresting one of his constituents and accused the Republicans of preparing for "an all-out attack on CRA." He also promised to introduce legislation to expand the CRA's coverage to mortgage bankers and large credit unions.

THIS little slice of political life from 1995 had a variety of ripple effects. Above all, ACORN's intimidation tactics, and its alliance with Democrats in Congress, triumphed. Despite their 1994 takeover of Congress, Republicans' attempts to pare back the CRA were stymied.

Instead, Democrats like Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and Reps. Kennedy and Waters allied with the Clinton administration to broaden the acceptability of risky subprime loans throughout the financial system, thus precipitating our current crisis.

ACORN had come to Congress not only to protect the CRA from GOP reforms but also to expand the reach of quota-based lending to Fannie, Freddie and beyond. By steamrolling the GOP that March, it had crushed the last potential barrier to "change."

Three months later, the Clinton administration announced a comprehensive strategy to push homeownership in America to new heights - regardless of the compromise in credit standards that the task would require. Fannie and Freddie were assigned massive subprime lending quotas, which would rise to about half of their total business by the end of the decade.

WHEN the ACORN-Democrat alliance finally succeeded in blocking Republicans from restoring fiscal sanity in 1995, the way was open to virtually unlimited lending quotas - and to a whole new way of thinking about credit standards.

Urged on by ACORN, congressional Democrats and the Clinton administration helped push tolerance for high-risk loans through every sector of the banking system - far beyond the sort of banks originally subject to the CRA.

So it was the efforts of ACORN and its Democratic allies that first spread the subprime virus from the CRA to Fannie and Freddie and thence to the entire financial system.

Soon, Democratic politicians and regulators actually began to take pride in lowered credit standards as a sign of "fairness" - and the contagion spread."

By now we're all getting more than a little tired of hearing how the liberals screwed us royally...yet again...but since the mainstream media defends them, or worse, flat out ignores what really happened, someone has to keep pounding home the truth. Before blogs and the like they'd have gotten away with it but at least now a few people know where our money went.

Kennesaw Revisited

"In 1981, Morton Grove, Illinois became the first town in the U.S. to pass a flat out ban on the possession of handguns within the town limits by anyone except police and active duty military during the performance of their official duties. In response, the town of Kennesaw, Georgia passed a gun law of their own in March of 1982. The Kennesaw law was almost the exact opposite to the Morton Grove ordinance. Rather than banning handgun possession, Kennesaw required every head-of-household to keep at least one firearm and appropriate ammunition in their home – with exemptions for those who had religious or philosophical objections to maintaining or using weapons. In other words, gun ownership was mandatory except for people who didn’t want to own a gun.

While Morton Grove became an instant media darling, Kennesaw became a pariah and a punch line. Pundits and “reporters” made jokes and wild predictions about the blood that would soon run in the streets of the small town a few miles North of Atlanta. The derision can still be heard occasionally from a late-night talk show host or a reflective news anchor, but all of the predictions of the “Wild West” and shootouts over fender-benders, simply didn’t pan out. Of course this lack of disaster was simply ignored by most in the media as were the actual results of this little comparative experiment.

Kennesaw and Morton Grove weren’t really a fair comparison when the experiment started. Kennesaw was pretty rural while Morton Grove was solidly suburban. Kennesaw had a population of only about 5500 while Morton Grove was closer to 23,000. And Kennesaw had a per capita crime rate significantly higher than the national average while Morton Grove enjoyed a relatively low crime rate. The fact is, Kennesaw was at a marked disadvantage from the beginning of this comparison. In the nearly three decades since these laws went into effect, Kennesaw’s disadvantage has grown rather than shrunk. While Morton Grove has remained at a fairly steady population, Kennesaw’s population has boomed to take a slight lead. While Morton Grove’s residents are slightly older than the national average, Kennesaw’s are significantly younger. Both towns are predominantly White, but Kennesaw has more Blacks and Hispanics while Morton Grove’s minority population is predominantly Asian. Statistically, Asian populations have the lowest crime rates of any minority while Blacks and Hispanics have the highest crime rates in the nation.

With all of these disadvantages working against Kennesaw, how did the two communities actually fare?

Morton Grove’s relatively low crime rate went up by over 15% immediately after enactment of the ban (12% more than surrounding areas) and has held pretty steady at just a tad below the national average ever since. There has been no statistical indication of the handgun ban having any positive effect.

Kennesaw is a different story though. In 1982, the year the firearms requirement was enacted, Kennesaw realized a 74% reduction in crime against persons over the previous year. That rate then dropped 45% between 1982 and 1983."

Still waiting for the blood to run in the Kennesaw streets?

Don't count on it. Statistics, trends, bellwethers, projections, all go out the window when reality takes over. People who are incapable of defending themselves will forever be nothing more than prey animals. Chicago, NYC, LA, doesn't matter where, but what does matter are two incontrovertible facts.

More minorities means the potential for more crime. More people "allowed" to own guns means that such criminals look elsewhere for their daily bread.

Know why the above mentioned cities can't, and I mean CAN'T join the rest of the country and permit the exercise of basic human rights? The blood would run for a while, and a lot of it, too. The imbalance would take some time to be remedied, and in the meantime those who should be incarcerated but are left free to pillage at will would take advantage of rights afforded to actual civilized human beings and until they pretty much killed one another off with the rest taken out by the police and armed citizens.

It isn't as if they would move to where one is expected to work an honest living. Too late for that. Too many generations of welfare-fed men and women who aren't anywhere near ready to rejoin society. That's why they stay, elect politicians who are ready with the handouts and who ban guns to keep them safe. More of them arrive to partake of the giveaways and suddenly you wake up one morning and ALL of our major cities are worlds unto themselves.

When will it change? Probably never, at least not without another sort of revolution. In the meantime, we worry that such lowlife scum such as Barack Obama can actually become the President of the United States because the thugs and their apologists fear freedom more than just about anything else.

And Ya Think YOU Have A Sucky Job

BIDDERS GET THEIR ROCKS OFF GISELE

Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but a break-up can add to their sparkle - especially if they were once wrapped around the exquisite fingers and neck of Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

A diamond ring and pendant belonging to the exotic superbabe are being auctioned off at Christie's in New York next week and will likely sell for a premium, given rampant speculation that the jewels were a gift from then-lover Leonardo DiCaprio.

The proceeds of the sale - expected to net between $135,000 and $170,000 - will benefit the Luz Foundation, a Bundchen charity that seeks to help young girls suffering from poor self-esteem, Ms Bundchen said, adding that "Zo's poor wretched creatures not blessed mit my beauty can at least be thrilled to know that zey are vearing zumzing that has touched the incomparable me."

And Then There's Florida

Man Shot Entering Home Mistaken as His Own

ORLANDO, Fla. — "A 24-year-old Orlando man was shot twice after accidentally entering a neighbor's home, thinking it was his own.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said James Conway was in stable condition Thursday. Deputies were called to a suspected burglary and found Conway moaning on the floor, saying he'd been shot in his own town house.

Investigators said 61-year-old Berty DeGuzman admitted firing at Conway. He said he thought he was being robbed.

Conway was alert, but allegedly told investigators he had been drinking.

Deputies did not immediately recommend charges against either man. In Florida, it is legal to use deadly force if a person feels they are being threatened by an intruder or attacker."

See what I mean? And it doesn't take the wisdom of Solomon to sort this one out. If the staggering drunk is believable, then he learned an important lesson. Case closed.

Gardener Ordered to Remove Barbed Wire Fence on Grounds It Could 'Wound Thieves'

"A British gardener’s local council has ordered him to remove a 3-foot high barbed wire fence around his property in case thieves hurt themselves on it, the Daily Mail reported Thursday.

Bill Malcolm, 61, installed the wire at his Worcester property after burglars robbed his tool shed and vegetable plots three times in four months, stealing more than $500 worth of hardware.

But Malcolm’s local council told him the wire was a health and safety hazard and warned him they would remove it by force if he did not do it himself, the Mail reported.

“The council said they were unhappy about the precautions I had made but my response was to tell them that only someone climbing over on to my allotment could possibly hurt themselves,” Malcolm told the Mail. “They shouldn't be trespassing in the first place but the council apologized and said they didn't want to be sued by a wounded thief."

Friend of mine had his truck broken into the other night. All that was stolen were a pair of binoculars, so we joked that it had to be a certain type of crook or crooks... you know, the sort who'd leave his tools alone for fear of touching something that might lead to work. Eugene is a trusting soul, but I think I convinced him to clean up the old 10 gauge and load it for bear. Serious bear.

Therein lies the major difference between us and the Brits. They worry about giving the bad guy a boo-boo. We fret over not blowing both his legs off without the hassle of a reload.

Vote For Obama: Early And Often

"Let every vote count, is the Democratic Party's mantra these days. That slogan might better be: Let every vote count as often as we need to win.

Such, at any rate, are the tactics of ACORN, Barack Obama's favorite "community organizers," and its Project Vote - of which, the Democratic presidential candidate has boasted, "I started working as the director . . . here in Chicago."

ACORN has been implicated in voter-fraud schemes in 15 states - including Ohio, from where The Post's Jeane MacIntosh reports today that a Board of Elections investigation has unearthed evidence of widespread voter fraud.

Two voters told MacIntosh they had been dragooned by ACORN activists into registering several times - one reporting having signed up "10 to 15" times.

ACORN canvassers "would ask me if I was registered," he said. "I'd say yes and they'd ask me to do it again."

Tuesday, Nevada officials raided ACORN's Las Vegas offices as part of a probe into voter-registration fraud - noting that some forms submitted by ACORN workers included the names of Dallas Cowboys players.

Officials in Lake County, Ind. report that fully 1,100 of 2,000 new voter-registration forms delivered by ACORN were "suspicious."

In Washington state, officials recently closed an investigation into ballot cheating that resulted in prison terms.

ACORN submitted more than 800 phony registration forms in Independence, Mo., with one woman registering 10 times, using three birthdates, four different Social Security numbers and six different phone numbers.

And, as The Post reported Monday, another pro-Obama group, Vote Today Ohio, took advantage of a quirk in that state's law, which allows people to register and vote on the same day without having to prove residency, to drive hundreds of people from homeless shelters and drug-rehab centers to the polls.

John McCain's campaign says all this "doesn't pass the smell test."

I once believed Barack Obama to be virtually un-electable. Stupid me. With the Yellowstream Media covering up his crimes, it'd take a helluva run by a savvy, quick thinking and determined Conservative Republican candidate to rise above the fray and hit home with the message that America would NEVER seat an out and out crook in the Oval Office, and John McCain just doesn't fit that description.
