Elizabeth Taylor Dead At 79

Although she'd acted in many films before Cleopatra, most of them were chick-flicks or dramas far too weighty for a kid to appreciate, so the mangled 1963 Hollywood stab at Roman/Egyptian history became the first time I really noticed Elizabeth Taylor.

After all, what else was there to look at? Richard Burton, he of the pipe-stem arms trying to look as if anyone would believe him capable of lifting let alone wielding a sword? Nah. Lizzy was the show. Damned fine actress.
