Texans Itchin to Drive 85

And Good For Texas

"In Texas, it seems 80 mph just isn't fast enough.
A bill passed in the state House of Representatives would raise the speed limit to 85 miles per hour on certain long stretches of road or designated lanes. The Senate is working on a similar proposal.
If the bill becomes a law, Texas will have the highest speed limit in the country."

If the road can handle it, then so should the driver. All Texas will be doing is to allow truckers to make better time and lower the states income from speeding tickets.

There's a number of stupid laws that get presented every two years, but this ain't one of them.

You get outside of my immediate town headed in any direction, traffic is moving AT LEAST 80-85 mph. That includes the DPS troopers.
This bill will just make it legal.

Pretty much the same here in Florida. Once you get out of areas the old folks populate then it's 80-90 or pull the hell over and let someone who can drive pass.
